My whiskey post started out by saying "I'm not surprised because according to my husband, Japan has been buying up all the bourbon." And I looked things up and found out that was not true. Australia drinks more US Whiskey per capita than Japan. Ok right behind Americans. 70% of US whiskey is drank by us. Which led me to the article about Suntory buying Jim Beam in 2014, and at first I thought 'Well it's not surprising Hibiki won because maybe they are learning some things from our storied Kentucky traditions." and I found out that wasn't true because Suntory was winning awards for it's whiskey before even buying Jim Beam. 

 

But it does explain why several of the distilleries around here have gotten noticeable upgrades. It also appears that Suntory distilleries are the ones more likely to charge for tours. Though from my perspective on the ground, I would have never known they were not American owned any more. 

 

(But, if you ever find yourself wanting a Bourbon tour, I would recommend Buffalo Trace. It's in a historic building, it covers a nice history lesson, teaches some about how it's made, and gives you 3 samples at the end. Oh AND it's Free! I haven't gone on the Marker's Mark tour yet (or any that matter) to compare.. but I know they charge a small fee to do it.)


 

 

So, my final posting diverged quite a bit from my original intent... but I learned something!

Also, House tabletop has more game than just what's going on on top of the table, if you know what I mean. *swag*

 

The Japanese will take over the world! ::D: I had a friend go on the Makers Mark one. Said it was really good. Buffalo Trace ah? I will have to look that up and see if I can plan on it. Thanks.

House war... i don't think it's much of a contest. House Tabletop (HTT) has skill and numbers  - in figures - to outlast any siege on there walls... which are made from dices, pink foam and more resin than you can shake a stick at! ::P:

But seriously. Where are the crab people? There are wolves sure. But those crabs... I am sure they are hiding in the forums somewhere.
