This sounds like a fantastic name for a band. :bday:

I've been there; it's freeing and kind of weird for a bit. When we first moved here I had about 2 feet chopped off (my hair was super long), which was nice at first, but eventually I started missing it. Since then, I've realized that I'm really a long hair kinda gal, so I went back to keeping it long. It's so much easier to style it, and I'm lazy.

EDIT: After it's cut, don't forget to remind yourself that you don't need nearly as much shampoo or conditioner as you used to. :)

Huzzah!

Day 2 in the office and the kobolds have been merciful thus far.  The coffee machine growled at me however, and I fear it might be to late.

Just to make sure they don't pick up on your pattern, keep changing where you are located.  Hard to hit a moving target.  And if anyone asks you can always say you aren't normally in the office and isn't this where you were supposed to be?

It's just poltergrinds, mine is haunted too.  The best part of waking up is howling spirits of the restless dead in your cup.

Wowsers, the jury waiting room actually supplies magazines ...

I brought the Thousand and One Nights anyhow, so I have plenty of reading material.

It also has a "reading room" where the TV is kept off.  Yay!

Can't make the wi fi work so I probably won't be posting much.

Subtle and quick, that's my trick.  Also liberally smearing myself with butter so I'm hard to get hold of.  "The more you tighten your grip, the more I will squish bonelessly through you fingers!"

I... uh... don't really want to tighten my grip. You can go about your business. I'll stay back here, thanks.

I'm glad you're able to perform your civic duty, and fulfill your jury obligations.

I still hope it doesn't take 1001 nights.

There is at least a 40% chance that I will wind up spending my whole evening working on a website for a fake band tonight.

Part of me is also considering a nuclear-krill ribbon for ReaperCon. Maybe as a prize for anybody who beings a krill-related entry to the paint competition.

Edit:

We also need t-shirts

Edit on edit:

@OneBoot: What have you done!?

It's definitely a worm, and it's definitely purple. Speed paint.

Etherfields has some strange miniatures concepts.
I wanted to embrace the dreamlike quality of them all by giving them a unified mood. So all of these minis use purple shadows and pale green highlighting.

2020 has-been rough on everyone but some people have had it rougher than others.  A friend of mine is disabled and has had a really hard time just trying to keep basic necessities done.

I thought I would send her a little friend who's got simpler an cuter problems. Purple is her favorite color.  He goes out in the mail on Monday

      Hope you like him too...

These guys are the truly random offerings I have wrapped up so far this year.  Many were half-finished somewhere beforehand, but I don't keep track of start dates.

To start of 2019 with hopes of a revised Mordheim, I offer another (converted) Pit Fighter to the bloody streets.

Mantic's scatter terrain from Terrain Crate

      A fat jailer from Paizo

A Dwarf Prisoner from the same Paizo set.

An iconic Rat Catch from Mega Minis.  I think Turnkey Miniatures makes it these days.

      A Barbarian porter from Frostgrave

      A Dwarf Waitress from TAG

And a converted Kislevite Archer from Warhammer parts.

So I realized I only had one painted dwarf (!) when one of my GMs asked me if I had anything for the Jadeborn, a race in Exalted that is roughly equivalent to dwarves except for the 0.001% who are roughly equivalent to elves. And they are also sort of stone golems. Based on jade.

I thought Reaper's 60184: Meyanda, Android Priestess, sculpted by Bobby Jackson, would do well for one of the elfy artisan Jadeborn and I pulled out a random assortment of seven (because of course) dwarves for the worker and warrior Jadeborn.

All paints used are Golden Matte Fluid Acrylics. Color mixes are (usually) noted, but not exact ratios.

Questions are welcomed and I will try to answer them. Critiques are appreciated.

This is the way I usually start miniature figures: Lightly primed with Titanium White, then when that is dry, washing it over with Burnt Umber. Burnt Umber is a dark, transparent pigment that settles into crannies when thinned down and shows the details very well. It also gives a nice warm undertone to later paint layers.

I left a few crystal and gem areas white so they will have more luminosity later.

      Left to right:
Reaper 60184, Meyanda Android Priestess; Ral Partha; Hasslefree HFD014 Hatherley; Oathsworn Miniatures; Oathsworn Miniatures; Red Box Games; Stonehaven Miniatures; Reaper 14143: Kara Foehunter, Dwarf Hero

      Details:

The Ral Partha dwarf is tiny!
