I think I'm happier with the face than most of the ones I've painted. Haven't gotten to the eyebrows to reverse that trend, though. :)

 

I'm thinking I needed to thin the highlight on the cloak. It appears to be a bit too stark of a transition from the mid tone. Thoughts? Glaze over that color with the mid tone?

 

The staff snapped off the other day. That wasn't an intentional change. :)

You're right, good job on the face. I think you are getting a nice contrast on your shading/highlighting. You could glaze to blend it a little more but if it knocked your highlight back, I would re-highlight it. He is looking good.

Thanks. I should probably judge it from further away from the figure than a close up photo. Should have time for more painting tonight.

I like that a lot. I like toothpicks as staff/ hafted weapons replacement. Just drill out the hand and feed it through. Bones are more forgiving and stretch a bit. Best to cut off the pointy bits first if you don't want them.

Highlighting on the orange/yellow ribbon-y things are done. I was intending it to be more yellow, but things happen. :)
