Barden Barrelstrap, Dwarf - Bones (Photo Heavy)

Recommended Posts

This is the dwarf cleric from my Dragons Don't Share 2 adventuring party. He turned out to be my favorite in the group! He is mostly painted with Reaper paints that I picked up at Wintercon and I love Peacock Green and my new favorite is Nightshade Purple! Seriously, 4 out of 5 of the adventurers has Nightshade purple as either a dominant color or mixed with another color or used as a shadow. What a versatile color!

Anyway, this guy was so much fun to paint. He is being so sneaky or cautious, I can't tell which!

C&C welcome!

I like bright colors! Who says dwarves don't like to be fashionable? I painted this guy after doing the elf archer that I didn't like very much so ta-da, we have all of my favorite colors here!

Very good work on him.

This figure has always seemed a bit 'blah' to me, but your painting has made him very, very interesting. Nicely done!

Thank you! He is one of the ones that you can't see all the stuff he has going on when he is the plain Bones color. The armor, the pouches and bags, wrinkles on his forehead even little runes on his staff. Way more fun to paint than I anticipated!

Pulled this guy out of the current round of the Box of Goodwill and painted him up over the course of two evenings.

I apologize for the low quality photos, but I've had such low drive to get pictures taken lately that I just wanted to break the ice and get the ball rolling.

This model is a Dark Sword Miniatures masterpiece of a sculpt by Jeff Grace. Never before have I seen so many tiny etchings on plate armor, especially on a figure that is barely 1.6 inches high. I feel a bit let down by my red OSL, but then again, this was only my second real attempt at the process, which is surely one I need to practice more.

In my quest to paint up every race class combination, I tackled this fun mini from Oathsworn Miniatures.  One bad thing about pre-painting dragonborn is that they have unique powers based on their dragon color, so how likely is it that someone want to pick this mini in blue for the character?  Oh well, another one down!

Sculpted by Patrick Keith.  Having fun experimenting with yellow shading and GW Contrast paints.  No basing yet, all my stuff is packed.

      Hi Guys,

another old classic from Julie Guthrie, part of a set she put out for Ral Partha in the eighties, Female Adventurers, which I imagine was their answer to the Grenadier boxed set that was also full of delightful adventuring ladies.

This figure is a little nostalgic, because she's actually lead, back from the eighties, not version cast later in Rallidium.

And as always, wasn't sure on a color for her clothing. I had the hair and skin pretty much figured out, but once I got to that point, it took a day or two to actually commit.

Anyhow, hope you enjoy, a great figure from the early sculpting days of Julie Guthrie!
