Reaper Bones 4: Enthusiasm and Commentary Thread

Recommended Posts

I've been making a list as I've been seeing things pop up in here. Note I've only been writing things down if they apply to things that are in my order, so I may have missed something.

1. Mismatched paint sets

2. Missing Mossbeard

3. Missing Turtle Dragon flight pole

4. Missing Fantasy Scenics

5. Various Mumlak tusk issues

It seems a lot of people have been missing Mossbeard. I wasn't one of them, but there have been repeated reports.

He's looking for Entwives.

My Mumlak looked fine. I have no use for him, but ... he's intact.

I'm liking the new Rauthauros variant; he's a serious chonk. ... and he'd really like to tip over backwards. But I like him. He's solid.

I seem to recall a lot of reports of missing barrels. Can’t say for myself of course, since:

My Bones Box lies over the ocean,

My Bones Box lies over the sea!

Oh, when will the postal service

bring my big Bones Box to me?

@Fire_Eyes, keep an eye out for wrong tusks on the Fan Favs mammoth, and a missing jaw on the zombie shark. I may have gotten one-offs on those issues. The paints seems to be the most widespread.

1 issue I found:

The arm of the genie in fan favorites doesn't want to attach. There isn't enough room to get it in under her hair, at least not without heating. It looks like maybe the arm should go on before the hair, but the hair was already glued on.

WARNING: Every Amazonian statue I opened (7 sets) had the wrong helmet with it (cracked helmet with smooth body, smooth helmet with cracked body)

Not a big deal, but make sure you assemble them correctly!

Huhn. I have the wrong left hand for slinging porkers.

(I have two left hands, but both of them only fit the boulder, they don't fit .. um.. well, it's the pig's bum end..  and I'm just going to stop now.

Funny, I either am not seeing it for how it goes on or I have THREE right hands:(  I just want porky to work, the rock will get milluput and be scenery:)

I there a 'known issues' list?

I know about the paints

the turtle flying stand

Anything else I should be looking out for?

Well the issues named above and:

Mossbeard is MIA (though mine is here, and you will know if you have him)

flight pole missing from Dragon Turtle

paint sets mixed up (if you have both coming, you should be fine), also heard issues of bottle mislabels

mumlak tusk issues

#415 dreadmere No base

#437 dreadmere two torsos

high rollers D10 has D12 base

I have heard of no base for thunderhoof (when KS shows one)

There was mention of the amazon/spartan statues have only the stone, not smooth. That may be confusion by just looking at plinth, which both look distressed/stone. The statues themselves are right (may have to use a magnifier to see differences) BUT man I thought they were bigger:(

@Darsc Zacal or @ladystorm can we break off the posts with issues into it's own post so they are easier to follow?

I am assuming they made a decision at some point to do away with the base. Thunderhoof's feet don't have the extra bits on bottom most models have to slot into the base.

Interestingly, the Jade Fire chieftain's sculpt seems to have changed a bit from the silhouette if I'm looking at it right. I like the change.

here's what I have for the trolls, see the hands for the two headed troll, aren't those all right hands? Also, I have two small pieces with the marsh troll, did others get those and if so, where do they go?????trolls.thumb.jpg.0ac2535af6bb4fc128d20e28307f5c87.jpg

No base for my Thunderhoof, but I don't think it is a problem personally. He's extremely stable without it, and then I don't need to worry about it getting in the way of brush access. If you want one, he'll be easy to glue onto one.

Just looked at my amazons (not spartan yet) and yes, my helmets are mixed up. Not too bad, just need to swap them, but good to know so we watch out for that.

I haven’t backed any of Bears Heads kickstarters yet, but I’ve been tempted by everyone.
This is the one that I give in to.
      https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/98300108/narthoks-the-excellent
But hurry! It’s funded with ONLY 3 DAYS LEFT!

As nice as that sculpt is, it’s the sci-fi and bartender versions I’m most excited about. The stretch goals for those have been reached, but only concept drawings are available to show.

I think these are great unique looking eye beasts.
@TheAuldGrump maybe something you could use for your campaign?

Here we are in 2015, the 40th Anniversary of Chaosium as a game company. In a few months Glorantha, Greg Stafford's fantasy game world, celebrates its Golden 50th anniversary. We feel the time is right to bring the celebrated classic second edition of RuneQuest back into print. Gaming is going through a bit of an Old School renaissance as of late, and we want RuneQuest to be a part of it. We hope you’ll join in on the fun!

      REWARDS:
The RuneQuest Hardcover Book - is 144 pages. It will have sewn binding. It contains all the 2nd edition text, but with all the errata incorporated where it belongs. Additional material has been added to the appendices at the end. If you want more than one copy of the book, add another $30 for each additional book to the level you are backing.

The RuneQuest Leatherette Hardcover Book - is 144 pages. It is in red leatherette with gold foil stamps on the front and spine. It has a color dust jacket. If you want more than one copy of the book, add another $50 for each additional book to the level you are backing.

The Player Handouts - are 20 pages of reference material for the players to use during character creation and ongoing play.

The GM Screen - is two 11 inch x 17 inch (very close to A3 paper size) color cardstock panels with handy charts and tables from the Rulebook on the GM side, and classic Luise Perrene art on the Player Side.

The Old School RQ Source Pack - consists of four of the earliest RQ1/RQ2 supplements published: Militia & Mercenaries, Scorpionmen & Broos, Trolls & Trollkin and the Balastor's Barracks scenario. Each is about 16 pages in length with a color cardstock cover. If you want more than one copy of this Source Pack, add another $50 for each additional Source Pack to the level you are backing.

The Runequest Playtest Manuscript book - is a 250+ page hardcover book created from high resolution scans of the original playtest manuscript. This manuscript is the only known set of playtest notes in existence which were lovingly kept in a binder for the last 40 years. This playtest material was used to create the first edition of RuneQuest. It includes newly written introductory essays by Steve Perrin and Greg Stafford. Here's a few pictures of the original:

The 2 volume "Unpublished Scenarios and Source Material" set - is two hardcover books with hundreds of pages of unpublished RuneQuest material by Greg Stafford and other early authors. It includes a fair bit of Sorcery rules for the West, the Howling Tower scenario set in the Upland Marsh, as well as a wide range of other material, esoteric and otherwise. We will describe it in more detail in the comments section and the FAQ. This reward is only available as part of this Kickstarter.

Into old school RPGs, love Glorantha/Runequest ?

then this one is a great choice

they seem to have fulfilled their last KS OK with minor hiccups

SITHRAH is a sci-fi about a little girl trying to find her father after their plane crashes in a unfamiliar land. That's when she starts seeing an invisible creature, called SITHRAH, who has been following her around. It's not long until she runs into a young man named Dino who is running from his own ghosts. Together they set out to find her missing father wherever the evidence leads.
Book 4 will focus on their journey across The Deep to try to find Light City.
This series will be 6 books long.
Sithrah has been a big experiment with the comic format by mixing subtle prose with comic panels. My hope is to blur the lines between comics, children's books, and novels without making it jarring for the reader.
Most of my inspiration comes from the comic artists of the 90's when I refined my drawing style. Later I became influenced by Miyazaki's movies and storytelling and have been trying to make comics that have a similar depth and feeling.
