Today is gonna be one of those days when that one mini in Bones 4 would be perfect for tonight's game.

Been a lot of those days. Since the very beginning with those giant apes in the core set...

There will always be those days. But they will change slightly, from "I don't have the thing yet" to "why didn't I get that set so I could have the thing".

Today the 'thing' is the giant serpent statue. That's about the size of a Neothelid (giant psychic worm) given the PCs are 8 levels below the thing, right?

The number of times "oh I've got the perfect mini for that... Oh, wait, its in the kickstarter that hasn't arrived yet"  has happened to me... Is probably outnumbered by the number of times that I say "the prefect mini for that is in the expansion/add on I didn't get."

We have been there, oh! So many times!

I think Megan is planning on using Mashaaf as a Neothelid, or at least as something in her Eberron game.

It has been sitting on her computer desk for a bit less than a week.

Mashaaf is the big bad in a campaign I've been running for going on 7 years now. I've yet to have her take to the board, and I'm hoping that she doesn't disappoint once it starts...

One could be said in a upcoming Nolzur's release is a Spectator mini. Perfect! No paying high ebay prices for a ugly pre-painted figure. My players aren't up to it so hopefully it releases about the time they do.

But yes B4 has many gaming goodies. I brought Mal'Drakar to the game tonight to show it off. Players were quite impressed with it. (even unpainted too!)

I will really need a "learn-to-mod" thread to get some eye stalks onto that definetly-not-a-beholder thing from the Darkreach expansion. He is looking fierce, but I like to play with eyebeams as often as possible.

Find a small bead the size you want the eye to be, thin wire, small drill, or pin, super glue, and green stuff. Thread the bead with the wire, twist wire to keep bead in place. The side with the twist is now the back of the eye. Cut wire to desired stalk length. Poke/drill hole in critter where you want the stalk. Insert wire and glue.

Wait a while until glue dries.

Smoosh mixed green stuff over wire and back of eye stalk. Rough up green stuff, use a knife to get smooth eyelids.

In addition to what @Werkrobotwerk suggested, @TaleSpinner has a great thread here that would help:

Reaper sells a "creature components" pack of pewter monster bits with some eye stalks in it.

Can confirm. That's how I made these baby not beholders.

But I love werkrobotwerk's idea!

I saved the spare eye stalks from my beholder for just that purpose... Gonna need to sculpt a few more...

Seeing as there wasn't a thread yet, I wanted to share another project that just hit Kickstarter, "DEPTHS OF SAVAGE ATOLL"

It's a great project I was happy to be involved with, doing some of the FDM print testing.  Everything looks great and prints well!

      https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ecaroth/depths-of-savage-atoll-3d-printable-tabletop-model/description

Enrich your tabletop RPG or wargaming experience with 3D print-ready minis, monsters, terrain, and buildings from island, nautical, and undersea environment.
