i wonder if reaper will change how they do kickstarter pledges after this

like, instead of wave 1, wave 2, they do canada pledge, UK pledge, etc. and then only the US has wave 1, wave 2, since that's the only place it matters

I was thinking just ditch the waves all together. All it does is create expectations and then Frustration when You realize wave 1 has to wait weeks. Honestly I would be so envious if i wasn't wave 1. Isn't backer number essentially the same thing? if they still want to ship according to when you pledged?? In Bones 1 the thought was shipping might be months apart... but here its days or weeks. IMHO it just creates unneeded expectations.

Ack!  And I'm stuck at work!  At least the wife and daughters brought the little box in (left at door so no fees, tariffs or duties).  Mine was but 21.6lbs

I'm just outside Ottawa so I guess that's 3 confirmed for Canada's Capital!

I'm still wishing Reaper was more clear about whether or not they are pulling the List of Doom orders until they run out. This confusion is part of why I hate video updates...

Also, you guys' weights are worrying me...I don't think I'm gonna be able to lift my box...

My interpretation of the video was they were going to pull orders normally until they ran out of one item and then they'd start setting those specific orders to the side until they could be fulfilled with the last shipment.

i can agree with that. As a fellow wave 1, with how antsy i am about it, i can only imagine someone in a later wave

I'm 99% sure they are going to pull the list of doom until they run out.  After that they will set orders they can't fulfill  until the last container arrives at which point the set aside orders get priority.

I agree that even taking into account how crazy Reaper HQ must be at the moment, a write up of the update would have been nice.

This was my understanding as well.

I have to disagree.

Both from the perspective of marketing and that of the ultimate consumer.

The wave reservation system builds excitement early in a project.  his provides the necessary "kick" to get a project rolling with excitement.

From the perspective of the consumer, where product has to ship over a period of several weeks in order to satisfy all sponsors, it provides for a reasonable expectation of the time window in which a product will ship.

In my own case, my order was locked in Wave 4.  I don't expect my order to be packed and shipped any earlier than the very end of the first week, with the second week more likely.  The joker in the deck is that I ordered all of the Late Shipping Items so I'm probably right on the borderline of whether my order will fulfill in Wave 4 or in Late Wave "We finally have the late shipping product".

With the current entitlement mindset that pervades society the Wave Shipping Scheme prevents a lot of unwarranted and undeserved sour grapes from those people who subscribed later after a lot of the Stretch Goals were revealed and don't have the mental maturity to wait their turn, which is ~after~ those who put money into the project First.

YMMV

I had Barney and Bananas in Pajamas.

"Purple Dinosaur Must Die!"

I was in college after a 6 year reality check in the US Navy and the Barney Craze was in full swing.

I personally couldn't stand the sappy and saccharine pre-school entertainment turning up nearly every where I would turn.

Whenever anyone would mention "Barney" I would growl what is in purple above.

Bones 4 actually does that. Europe and Australia (and their associated regions) had separate pledge levels - it was known from the start that they would ship outside the "Waves".  Now that fulfillment is here, the only one that "breaks" that is Canada.

So my guess is that the only change for future KS will be to have a separate Canadian wave, too.

@Green Eyed Monster pretty much summed up my thoughts.

I’m wave 1. I made my first order within the first 24 hours of the PM. Seeing all the pics from our friends from Canada is making me anyzy. I’m fairly sure that checking the Tracking Page every few minutes, in hope that the Reaper Peeps have finished the warehouse setup early and are jonesing to process my package, isn’t helping.  ::P:
