Opened up my chicken hut to find the rear talon on the right leg was broken off.

Figured, no problem, as I was planning on removing the legs anyway as I just want the hut.

I have a small hobby saw, so I started sawing on the leg.

Or to be more accurate, I tried to start sawing on the leg.

I don’t know what’s been added to Bones Black to make them so tough,

but I think I may need an actual Bones Saw.

There’s a marketing idea on a new hobby tool for you Reaper.

So its like cutting a drumstick off a turkey. More a surgery than a cut or saw.

I just watched Moana for the first time last night. So now I want to "paint" this guy's shell with glitter and bits of shiny treasure.

But he salutes you! And wants to shake your hand!

Now I have some idea what to do with him, thanks @Pezler the Polychromatic

I liked the idea, not so keen on the finished mini.

I will likely cut it into pieces to create a pool of crab monsters half submerged or something like that.

Either that or convert it to get a more dynamic pose.

My crabman is going to end up with the legs of the tidal lurker or the dire crab.

Right arm, sword and base are separate pieces.

Question for those of you who received the Lost Valley expansion.

What do the tusks of your large elephant man look like?

Mine looks like one may be mispositioned.

Is this what yours looks like?

My left tusk is broken off but it fits back together more upright than yours. Almost 90 degrees twist clockwise.

Not happy to hear about operation drumstick being difficult. May have to go to the band saw if it'll fit. My bandsaw is kind of small. Then reattaching them will be a bit of a hassle too.

I've gotta admit, I'm glad I didn't get Baba Yaga's hut. I have no use for the legs being on it, but considered getting it to be a nice terrain piece. In the end, I decided it wasn't worth getting since I have such trouble with big terrain blocking my players' view of the mat (and they're too lazy to just reposition to see something). Knowing that the legs are fused to the building and require effort to remove them, I'm very glad I don't have to deal with the hassle.

Got my reward yesterday. Mossbeard seems to have escaped the box in transit and is probably living wild and free somewhere between Texas and Michigan. Who really wants to live in the Detroit area anyway?

Email sent to help at reapermini dot com. I do feel a bit ungrateful, though. The discount for backing over the retail price is so good, I feel as though I got my money's worth without the Ent.

Haven't inventoried the core set yet, but man, that barge is large! No, that is not a euphemism...

That's why I'm very patient and can put up with any mistakes that happen. I know Reaper will make good in the end and it's an incredible savings. Did anybody figure out the per mini cost this round? I remember it from earlier Bones. Got a new acquaintance thinking of getting into mini gaming and I'm willing to sell him some of my stuff but was too lazy to do the math myself on these.

Is there a list anywhere that gives the names of the minis?

edit: quit being lazy. The core set is $0.61 usd per mini varying in size from kobolds and pole toppers to Gauth.

Wow. Wow, wow, WOW. Thank you for breaking this down. I had no idea the cost savings.

Makes Bones 5 tempting.

When the average price for a man sized mini is $3-4 at retail it is a very good deal.  The expansion boxes are $50 for 36-43 minis so ~$1.16-1.40 per mini. Double the price of the core set but still pretty reasonable.

Just out of curiosity I looked up a couple things from Bones 3.

 Ma'al Drakar KS $60, retail $150

Marthragul KS $15, retail $30 (and that's not bad for a mini that size)

Frost giant warriors KS $10 for 2, retail $13 for 1/ $26 for both

paints KS $20 for 12, retail $3.70 for 1/ $44 for 12

So at least a 50% savings over retail. Just in case those people with 40 lb boxes needed any more justification for buying now.

It's similar to other plastic models. It should be easy to drill.

I would recommend a pin vise (available at most hobby stores) or for larger drilling a manual hand drill (I got mine at JoAnnes etc, no shame) A manual hand drill, for those who are not old farts like me, looks like this,

and this is a pin vise

the reason for the recommendation is the high rotation speed of a dremel or standard rotary drill could cause the Bones material to melt, making for a sloppier hole and fouling the bits.
