Just because my number 3 granddaughter woke up and came looking for grampa to keep the scary things at bay, I find it is 5:30 AM Eastern time and my Bones IV package  has left  Shreveport LA on it’s way to the Space Coast.

Me being awake at 5:30 AM is not evidence that I am haunting the tracker for my Bones. Nope. Not evidence at all . . .

This was a triumph. I'm making a note here - huge success...

I really wish I could just call in sick today. Working at a brokerage firm, today is going to be a loooooong day, since it's tax filing deadline, and my Bones is due to arrive today, but I'll go in and be a good worker. I'll just be itching to jump out of my seat come 5 pm.

Well Carp. That’s no good. I’m going to have to have a sit and think on this.

Thanks for posting your pic.

Well, the tusk that's glued on wonky you could always break it off part way and called him "Broken Tusk the Undefeated" or something like that.

Don't have the time to read all the pages, but is there any news on the UK/EU container yet? Still on the ocean?

Honestly, I think the last word about it (in this thread) was that it left Reaper HQ.

From there it needed to travel (somewhere) by truck. At least Four possible destinations: Houston, Savannah, Charleston, or Virginia. Then it gets to sit at the terminal until its ship arrives. Then it needs loading. (At which point it would definitely be scanned.) That event might be reported as “On The Water” but if the container ship has another 3286 containers to be loaded and 1456 to unload, the one container we care about could be stationary awhile. Then (let’s say it went to Houston) the ship might depart Houston but stop again at a terminal in Florida and again at Savannah before finally starting an Atlantic transit. Then there is the variable of how fast is the ship? (17, 23, and 27 knots are typical cruising speeds). Then there is the variable of which container terminal will it put into in the UK. Felixstowe? Liverpool? Then a wait for everything stacked on top of it to be unloaded. Then sit in the terminal until Customs have had a look. Then maybe, finally, at last! a trip on a Lorry to Reaper/UK.

The shipping companies don't share all those excruciating details about every container so the guys at Reaper don’t necessarily have a lot to share.

At the last Reaper Live they couldn't answer the question on the spot, but said the container was expected to arrive in the UK in the following days, Ed guessed the 14th.

So there is a hope that we might see the first shipping notifications for our area this week.

Yeah. My last scan is still about midnight on Wednesday/Thursday in OKC. And the tracker is still saying Severe Weather Delay with a detail note of "Severe weather conditions have delayed delivery. Your shipment is scheduled to arrive today after the delivery commitment time." Which is what it said on Thursday, Friday, and yesterday.

UPS customer service sent me a boilerplate message that didn't address my issue at all. If I don't see anything by tomorrow afternoon, I'm going to follow up again.

My package was apparently on an extended tour of OKC. Arrived just after midnight on Thursday morning and left this morning at around 0530.

From the little I've seen, OKC is probably a great place to live, but I wouldn't have thought it a good place for a four-day visit.

I wonder whether my message to customer service managed to get it pulled from the bottom of a pile and finally put back on a truck. Well, whatever. It will probably show up tomorrow.

Thanks :) That sounds awesome, no rush though. :)

Looks like our packages were spending quality time in OKC together for the weekend.  Mine started moving again this morning.  Still projected to arrive at my house tomorrow.

Interesting.  Last time my Bones package went from Denton to Ft Worth, to OKC, to St Louis to Creston IA before getting to me.  I was amazed at the time because I would have thought it would have traveled straight up the I35 corridor through Kansas City to Des Moines, then down to Creston (our hub).

This time it did run up the I35 corridor - Denton to Ft Worth to Lenexa KS (outside KC) to Des Moines this morning.    I was absolutely sure I'd see a time stamp in the St Louis area this morning.
