When does Reaper Live start, will there be an episode this week with all the other stuff Reaper is working on now?

should be 6PM reaper time (for me on the west coast 4PM). Just checked twitch, the counter says an hour 40 minutes, so there should be one

Spoiler because ALL THE PICTURES! There were so many minis that were multipart or big (or both) that I ended up just taking pictures of everything lol.

Assembled. Note: if you plan to have minis riding on the mammoth, you'll have to build or place something on its back to create a flat-ish surface. I could barely get the rat to balance up there, and Forscale kept falling off.

Howdah you do that? (Yes, I have been saving that pun.)

I am actually glad that the Efreet isn't assembled - it is taking a fair bit of work to get the Bones Black version to look good. I would have been happier if it came as a kit.

LOOT.

701 Anhurian cavalry:

Assembled. There was a mold line right next to the peg for his spear arm that changed the shape of it, so I'll have to do some trimming to get the arm in.

702 Overlord cavalry (I forgot to take an unassembled pic, but can do so on request). Gonna need boiling for sure, both the horse and rider's legs didn't want to sit where they were supposed to.

For both of these,  BE GENTLE when pushing the horse's hooves into the holes, the ankles are thin and I bent two of them (they didn't break, thank goodness). This new material will take some getting used to.

703 Mystic Portal! :bday: I've been super excited about this for a long time now and the end result did not disappoint. @TaleSpinner did a fantastic job, especially with the swirly bit in the middle!

There's actually little spherical notches on either side of the portal for the lion's paw to fit into. They're invisible if you don't want to use the lions, but it's a nice touch and adds additional stability. It amused me that the heiroglyphs are included in the notch lol.
20190418_002204.thumb.jpg.c8528cb7871be5d3975247064715eba0.jpg

Note: the material used is MUCH harder than the plastic used for previous translucent minis. Again, will take some getting used to, but should be nice to paint.

704 Chaos Toad Sorcerer, 705 Chaos Toad Brawler, 706 Chaos Toad Savage. More lovely sculpts from @TaleSpinner, it was super fun watching these come to life in his WIP thread, and now I have some of my own!

Assembled. Here is a case where I wish it had come assembled, at least partly. The head piece is a right PAIN to get on, and it's a good thing the new plastic is still a bit flexible or I'd have broken the neck peg. I put a drop of glue in more for the principle of the matter; once it's on, it doesn't easily come back off again:

738 Female Djinni (something, I assume the lamp, is missing from mine. There's a little slot for it on the right side of the base:

Assembled.

Back view. Her sword isn't actually attached to anything sculpt-wise, it's just kind of...floating there. Which, yeah she's a Djinni and can do what she likes, but still it looks a bit odd if you're actively looking for it.
20190418_014732.thumb.jpg.2bc3bb9c95e6ab5b592b55cd93f8618a.jpg

Here's what it looks like without the sword; the slot looks pretty easy to fill if you'd rather use her without her sword (which is really a very pretty weapon):

739 Isobael the Bard and Dog. Last but certainly not least! Isobael even looks a bit like Izzy, which is a nice touch, and the dog definitely looks like A Good Boy:

Right-o, it's onto the Core set, after I take a bit of a rest. ^_^

To be brutally honest, while I'd like to take credit for the cool swirly part in the center of the portal, the one I did wasn't nearly so dynamic, being more of a simple whirlpool.  Ron approached me after the KS and asked me about removing it and I did.  They were then going to cast it in resin and scan it so they could have one of the zBrush people (something I hope to be soon) add a more dynamic swirl that you could actually put a mini through.  I agreed with this plan.  They did all this, but something went wrong with the scan and the model itself was damaged and the zBrush sculptor (I wish I could remember his name, but I only heard it once) was forced to essentially copy my masters in zBrush for a lot of the sculpt (though I suspect not all, as those symbols on the balls got into the notches originally because I sculpted the balls first, let them harden, then sculpted the notches around the balls, so if he redid that part he really was was copying everything I did).

So in the end, the portal was still my concept and sculpt, and yet the finished product is not my sculpt, at least not directly.  I'm conflicted on that.  For instance, I don't feel like I could paint that up as a ReaperCon Open piece because the forms there are not directly my tool strokes, unlike the Chaos Toads which were my sculpting directly.  On the other hand, the portal was my design and concept, unlike the Chaos toads which were the product of a design session between Izzy and I.

For Argent's size, i'd like to see a production copy up against the one they had in the studio when we did the factory tour at RCon last year.

I remember seeing Argent on that tour, and being left with the impression he was massive, but I to was a little bit underwhelmed upon receiving mine.  So I'm wondering - is there a real difference, or did my memory make him bigger?

For me Im not too worried about the difference.  As long as he is comparable to Taukzul (or whatever)

Surpisingly comparable, actually!

That makes my heart hurt that your original sculpt was wrecked!! I remember your original, it was a lovely piece and while being able to fling minis through is fun, I had such a fun, swirly multi-colored design in mind for your version that won't quite work on the final version. I can definitely understand your feeling conflicted. :(

Partway through the Core set. Our table is covered in tiny plastic people and dragon parts. It's a good thing I have a very understanding husband lol!

I know there are a few folks that do Bolt Action and similar 28mm wargaming (@buglips), so I thought I'd bounce this out there.

      https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tftb/world-war-ii-soviet-railroad?ref=discovery_recommendations

      Story
Railroads are an important means to transport troops, equipment, ammunition and all other kinds of supply to the front. Especially in a country as vast as the Soviet Union with it's endless steppes, only few reliable roads and no major rivers running in the direction of the German advance during Operation Barbarossa in World War II.
With this set of detailed buildings and rolling stock in 1/56 scale for 28mm figures you get the opportunity to recreate the crucial fighting around the Soviet railroad system.
The kits focus on the major pieces of rolling stock available to the Soviet defenders: box cars, gondola cars and flat cars. And the mighty ALCo RSD-1 Diesel Engine which was made available under the US Lend-Lease Act.
Also included is a typical rural train station with optional additional platforms for all who want to depict a Soviet - or captured German - supply depot, where heavy equipment like tanks and guns are being unloaded.
And for all of you looking for an armored train - don't worry! We have you covered.
        Talking about railroad tracks:
We did not see the need to reinvent the wheel, so all kits are designed to be used with
4Ground Railroad Tracks (available as add-ons to the Kickstarter) or O Gauge Model Railroad Tracks The kits include optional parts enabling you to choose your favorite system while assembling. Going this route has allowed us to concentrate on designing and producing the rolling stock only, which has the advantage of an earlier fulfillment date for the Kickstarter.
All models are highly detailed on the outside and inside. The interiors are easily accessible, as roofs are removable. In addition, all doors are moveable, which means you can open or close them during gameplay.

A Viking Girl sculpted by Bobby Jackson. She was a lot of fun to paint since she had a lot of canvas for freehand work. She is also my first serious effort at NMM, so that's a well I plan to return to.

I came to paint her when I asked my friends which model needed to get some love next. I presented a wizard, a ranger, and an armored lady fighter. One chimes in that she'd like to see the fighter (she being a practitioner of HEMA). Her boyfriend mentions something about boob armor. I said, no, she's got pretty normal armor. You want to see something egregious? THIS is egregious. My HEMA friend immediately says, "I'd like to change my vote." So here we are.

Here's the WIP thread for her. Here's my next piece.

This has sod all to do with miniatures, but I would be surprised if there were not people who might want one of these pins, for literally any reason at all.
I'll let the campaign speak for itself, as I usually do; it is pins. There are, as the title implies, representations for most of the common faiths, in a literal rainbow of ... well, Pride rainbows.
