Just look at those face details, Bones haters.

She has friggin' eyelids and brows!  (Not to mention 2 wee hedgehogs! ::):)

We really liked most of the Dreadmere set, but the herbalist is one of my favorites too.  I'm conflicted whether I want to paint her first or one of the Rockys.  (Rocky the dragon is another favorite.)

I believe with Bones 4 it was possible to choose a $100 pledge if you knew you would be getting $100 of stuff, it didn't have to be a core set.  Pretty sure that's the pledge we chose, with our total at the end of the campaign being around $200.  I think we added about another $100 in the pledge manager.  That seemed like a reasonable balance between supporting stretch goals and being responsible with our budget.  Even so, I'm a little overwhelmed with the sheer volume of Bones we have.  We supported all 4 of the Kickstarters so far, and I'm getting some serious Bones fatigue at the moment.

I've only done this one and can see potential Bones fatigue. I hope that there is a long pause before the next one. I'd probably hop in for Core, or $100 worth, without worrying too much. But I am a slow painter. Maybe I'll get a few done by the time the next rolls around? I think I'll be more careful on the expansions, and suggest that Sir Cyr and I not double up on a few items. Lost Valley is cool, but in hindsight, I probably shouldn't have bothered with it considering my usual interests and my D&D campaign. I'd happily just pick up individual parts later. We got two frost giant raiders, two rulers of hell, two Sophie & friends, and two spartans/amazons - I'm a slow painter, but Sir Cyr doesn't have as regular of interest. We could have waited on retail if he went "ooh I want those too". He wanted Nyarlothetep more than me (I think he's darn cool but I don't have a strong draw to him), but Sir Cyr will not likely paint him unless I nag forever. And okay, I probably don't need double DoDs for multiple volcano ideas.

That said, I'm getting Sir Cyr to paint some of the minitaurs this evening. Perhaps there is hope for getting him going too ^_^ I'm probably going to keep priming Bones with the airbrush for practice and perhaps get a base coat on something.

NEXT QUESTION:

Which Bones IV figure should I use to practice monochrome painting? Specifically, monochrome violet. Nothing but a dark violet and white. Not even going to use black.

If I remember right, you're someone who doesn't like the translucents, right? You could do that with the ghost pirates.

I think any of the dark elves from Darkreach would be great for this. The dark elf queen in particular could look really cool

I’ve been in on all four Bones kickstarters. By Bones 3 I was feeling the fatigue and actually passed on getting the core set.

Still got a number of addons though.

I think there is a lot of room to make more that would interest me personally.  Just looking at the warlords line with all the "common soldiers" from different races.  This is something Ive been asking for since bones 2.  (I didnt get to campaign in bones 1 because I was late to the party barely got in).

Same here.  Bones 4 I didnt get the core set either.  But honestly it wasn't because I have too much stuff.  Their choices of miniatures just didnt interest me enough.  Everyone raved about the dragon and I was like...no thank you.

I have been on all Bones ks as well. While I haven really felt “bones fatigue” I have to admit I am a bit mini’d out this week. Assembly and find a place to put stuff has taken a bit of a toll on me.

Though, as Bones 5, is likely a couple months away, with another 2.5 year delivery after that... I am fully ready for it.

Agree 100%. But... would like some non traditional human or humanoid soldiers. Arabian, chinese, Pacific Islander. Warlord has some great Arabian inspired soldiers. Any of that would fit a niche I don’t have.

With a song of ice and fire, frostgrave, oathmark and Fireforges northmen... I don’t need many European inspired soldiers anymore.

Bones 2 was my first reaper kickstarter.  I bought the core set but on fulfillment learned that I really didnt like the detail level and bendiness of the bones material for human or smaller miniatures.  Loved the bigger models though.  For bones 3 and 4 I skipped the core sets only picking various add-ons (typically spending ~$100 each time).  The Bones Black KS will be an interesting announcement for me... I'll definitely be paying attention to the core set again, but ultimately we'll have to wait and see.  Some of the bones black models from Bones 4 have still been pretty lackluster in the detail department (velociraptors for example) but certainly the freebies (owlbear, efreet, goblin shaman) seen so far have been pretty good to great...

Oh and of my Bones 4 order, Blacksting is definitely my favorite with Nargalauth (sp... the balrog thingey), Mossbeard, and the firegiant hunter being tied for 2nd...

I didnt get the raptors because I have little interest in dinos.  However, I will say that the armored goblins came out great.  I dont have a metal one to compare but I think detail wise its pretty close to metal.  I think some of the sculpts are sized wrong digitally and it didnt translate.  Like I keep hearing about the wolf with the giants.  Something they definitely need to work on.

I've supported all 4 too.  And after each one I've said, "That's enough Bones, I'll probably only get one or two things from the next one."  And every time, when I see the new Core Set there's been so much coolness in it my will has crumbled instantly.::P:

And I don't regret a single purchase.::):

Same here. I mean, I  pretty near 100% of what we got, but yeah, with our dining room table currently looking like this:

20190419_053642.thumb.jpg.3c63339d4944adf5167b4825a12d9e29.jpg

And needing to seriously redo our mini storage system...I'm feeling kind of overwhelmed too. For me it's feeling like getting a ton of stuff for Christmas. I'm super happy and grateful for all of it, and will find a home and use for it all eventually, but when it's so many things all at once (most of which are big and odd shapes and require glue) which I need to find places for...well I think I might actually go lighter next Bones KS, rather than just talk about it like I did for this one.

I may never have "enough" minis, but I think I'm starting to get close.

It's hard to beleive but I've had a similar feeling lately. I've got so many I'm not looking to by a lot more and want to focus on finishing what I have. Then Northstar and Reaper keep putting out more stuff I like. But I'm more like a box or two, not an army or 5.

I've been in for all 4 kickstarters. Each time I've got a core set. I do not have bones fatigue, but my wife does.  She came down and saw the minis I got and said "Are you insane?".  I smiled.

About 90% done with assembly.  9 bottles/tubes of super glue have bought the dust and two are on their last legs.  Of the big stuff I only have the barge to go.  I assemble because we will game with unpainted minis.
