the value of the core set is amazing, but it doesn't do much when the figures sit unpainted in a box for years because we don't need them and selling on ebay is a horrible pain in the butt that i don't want to deal with, so they sit there waiting to be chopped up for conversion parts.

Same here, which is why I have avoided any of the sets and only went for add ons. (I cheat and try to buy characters from DnDs Icons of the Realms and Pathfinder Battles as they are usually only $2-$6 each, not a ton more than bones)

 

We've got some definite Bones Fatigue here. We weren't going to get Core and we were only going to go in on the really exciting expansions. But then we priced it out and with the bits of Core we wanted we were at $98 or something, but for significantly fewer minis... and we ended up wanting a bunch of the extras. Knowing what I know now, I probably wouldn't have gotten Lost Valley, but that's about it.

 

I can totally see why the roc isn't appealing for display. I'm just excited to have it for tabletop--I need one. Actually, I need at least three... but I got three, so I'm set, right?

Regarding the Roc: My wife found a horizontal line on the underside of the tail piece that almost looks like the piece was set down on an edge while still warm. Unfortunately, this same line shows up on my Roc models, so that seems unlikely. If you have this, it's unlikely that asking Reaper to replace the piece will help.

That's correct, Billy Bookshelves with additional glass shelves at $15 a piece (11 on the left for a total of $250-ish). I have 9 on the right, will probably put a 10th in, I'm waiting to see how all the big pieces stack up

cant it be carved down with a sharp blade or blended into the mode with green stuff, etc to get rid of the crease?

I'm pretty sure I'm going to try migrating the Roc to a clear flight pole, but I suspect I'll need something substantial and rigid. Ideally clear, still. Anyone got any particular suggestions?

Probably. Well, certainly, if you're good enough. 

 

Worth mentioning, though, to reduce disappointment if people try to get a new version in better condition.

Maybe try using an acrylic rod from Amazon? They have a variety of thicknesses.

GW flight stands should be ok. the smaller plastic ones. the larger ones for 40K/forgeworld planes, etc should definately work.

I guess the other option would be to just paint it and suspend it in a massive cylinder of clear resin... yeah... that's the ticket!

That's the biggest number that I remember but I'm not sure what the number was at the beginning of the EU bundling.

Looks like they are done for the day. Wave 9, 9040 orders remaining.

 

With the 22,366 to start, total of 13,326 orders shipped. 59.6% done.

 

Beginning to look like we will see non Hut/Tree Wave 14 ship before Remaining Wave 2+ with hut/tree. Bummer.
