Maybe I'm trying too hard to find a silver lining for you - but having your town be the one showing in the Tracker with Wave 14 and 0 orders remaining would be kind of hilarious bragging rights...

Ok, so the best Unicorns-and-Rainbows scenario is that they get the container tomorrow or the next day, right? I know worst case is a couple more weeks because of Customs but I'm trying to stay positive here.

I missed Bones I, got the Core set and a little bit more from Bones 2, got Core set and a number of add-ons from Bones 3.

I did not get the Core set this time, I cherry picked (some stuff from the core set, add-ons - glad I chose Dreadmere and the Barge, glad I did not get Argent ... a bit miffed I got Baba Yaga's hut and the feet not removable, but still happy I got it).

As I backed a large number of other mini KS projects, I have a huge stash of minis, I guess I do not need more dwarves, halflings, humans, orcs, goblins etc. It's not really Bones fatigue, but it gets harder to justify spending money on more stuff I don't need and will never paint (because my painting speed simply cannot keep up - I finish 3 minis and another game with 80 minis arrives).

 

I will look at Bones 5 ... and I probably will find something, but I guess it will be less than during Bones 2, 3 and 4.

 

I went over the Bones website and cherry picked a number of minis last week ... (yeah, another halfling - but the wizard with the glasses and the rabbit, something special I think ... and so on). Out of interest, I also went through all the Bones miniatures and ... was very surprised. There were 25 pages of miniatures and on every page there were at least 3 minis I had already painted. I guess I have painted over 100 minis from Bones 2 and 3 (and some from Bones 1 I bought).

I would think any sort of acrylic rod... you might be able to get an acrylic straw for cheap with a good diameter that could support a good weight.

 

Alternately, if you really want to make sure that roc has all the support it needs, you could repurpose one of the "plain" base rollers from GreenStuffWorld... wouldn't get you a lot of loft, but that bird could be made out of lead and the "flight stand" wouldn't care.

If I go flight-stand instead of the rocs, there'll be some work involved, like how to embed the rod and such, but I like the idea of getting him some serious height. Probably just do a clear acrylic rod - cutting it for appropriate height shouldn't be much of an issue. Though the idea of creating a solid cylinder of clear resin with the roc embedded in it is somewhat tempting, TBH. I just don't know how I'd be able to manage the logistics of it.

I don't know that I have the energy to fix it, but I have already started the process of green-stuffing the joints between the wings and body, so you never know.

when you say how to embed it . currently, i've cut up and been resculpting much of the privateer storm raptor to use as a phoenix.  instead of the curved tail that sits on rocks, im totally redoing the tail.  im just going to have a small hole for a GW flight rod to stick into. and the base it sits on, that rod will be glued into it. if i want more support on the base, may have the base of the rod go into some apoxiesculpt, that will harden around it.

Not that it is a huge issue for me, but do not forget that there were some of us (including I)  in Wave 1 that didn’t get their order yet either for reason of including a Hut in their order.

I reckon minimum we're two weeks away from minis in hand if you're waiting on that last container (as I am). It still needs to ship by rail supposedly, go through Dallas customs, get to Reaper, get unloaded/organized, then everything needs pulled/shipped, and of course travel time to your home. Then of course you have to acknowledge that two weeks is a sunshine and rainbows estimate with a month probably being more realistic.

Wow! I didnt know the hut was stopping wave 1 orders. were the quantities that low or was the demand high? I do some slavic/russian fantasy gaming and baba yaga is a central figure for evil but I didnt go after the hut.
