When you get a new KS, start with terrain. They're the easiest pieces to paint.

Then, of course, when your next KS miniatures come in, drop whatever KS you're painting, and start painting the pieces of the next set.

Time this right, and your painting will also be easy. You'll have nothing but terrain, but it'll be easy. :upside:

She's dressed like *that* and you only care about her *fingers*???

Yeah, she only has three fingers (and one thumb) on each hand. Original concept art based on old-school Disney cartoons, I guess. <_<

... well, now I wanna stick elf-ears on her and paint her to look like Leetah. >.>

Wow! I didnt know the hut was stopping wave 1 orders. were the quantities that low or was the demand high? I do some slavic/russian fantasy gaming and baba yaga is a central figure for evil but I didnt go after the hut.

I was probably one of the very latter ones of Wave 1, my primary lock was Jan 2018.  I wish I hadn’t gone for the hut now because of the delay...but Ill probably come around.  Being able to detach the legs was somethings I was planning on, but I may be able to figure out a mounting system that involved threaded posts and very small hardware on the bottom of the hut so the legs would screw in when needed very securely.  Time will tell.

In all honesty, I have a lot of figures / terrain for historicals, Sci-fi and several large bins of early Reaper metals and bones from I - III to someday get to so the urge for Bones IV is purely “I want it” over “gee, I don’t have anything to work on”.

I may never have "enough" minis, but I think I'm starting to get close.

A very common  misconception among those who need to purchase more miniatures.

What do people think about the assembled miniatures and the disassembled miniatures? With assembled minis, I save time when inventorying and time on not gluing the mini together. On the other, I find the assembled minis from the factory contain gaps and are heavy-handed when applying the glue.

I'm quite happy to have them come in pieces.

I'd rather put 'em together myself, that way if there's something wrong I know who to blame.

ETA: Bones fatigue? That sounds like something y'all might want to see a Doctor about.

And here's a perfect example of why I like the core sets for Bones. Playing a game and our group finds a girl who is a healer and is willing to join us. She has no weapons but we'll take all the help we can get. A little while before this we found a sickle which the rules say someone can use as a hand weapon. So I remembered the girl with the perky hedgehogs and started painting her. But she was from Darkmere but anyhow my point sort of stands.

So, as weird as it seems, I think my first bones 4 mini's I will paint are the Frost Giants:)

Here's concept art:

Here's how mine came:

Now with Bendy sword issues fixed (including the dagger on the heroine's belt)

(That's my sir Forscale stand-in in all the pics)

All I need to do now is fix the wolf's leg (it's a little off to get on it's base right), then soapy water clean them all so I can start the priming phase.

So, are they really that far off (other then the wolf) their concept art?

Here's the bit about the Container of Doom:

Quote

Regarding the Last Container: We are expecting the final container to arrive at our warehouse this week, however we do not have any specific information as of this afternoon as to the actual arrival date. Once the container is here, we will translate it and go back to Wave 1, fulfilling all orders that were skipped because of the missing items (Baba Yaga's Hut, Tree of Despair, Frost Giant Raiders).

the biggest changes, and the changes a lot of people were upset about, was giving them much much bigger breasts instead of having them covered in armor and looking more warrior like

if you compare your mini pics to the concept art, you will see that both had armor removed so that big busts could be put in

a lot of people (myself included), liked these minis because they weren''t overly feminine with big busts like 99% of all other female  minis, so when they were changed to match other female minis, a lot of us were disappointed because one of the drawing points for us to this set was that they looked more warrior and less feminine while still being females. I'm mostly sad that they lost chest armor in order to have busts put in, it was nice that some female minis FINALLY had armored chests and busts minimally on display like true warriors would

and then it was changed. And that is why people were upset, because we asked for properly armored warrior female giants, and were shown properly armored warrior female giants, and then were given female giants with armor removed to make way for busts, which was a literal opposite as to WHY these  minis were requested and desired in the first place. It was asked to get this thing, and then we were given the opposite after paying for them
