@Oneboot - I swear I saw one specifically about breaking up the core set and the goblins. But then again... I have been known to be wrong.

I think this may be the quote you were thinking of....

Quote

Any chance of making the previous Bones Core Sets available as add-ons?

-

@Paint Monk - That is not planned, and would seriously undermine our retailers and hurt future sales. Our lifeblood is your store, and we cannot afford that kind of action

I posted most of the other quotes regarding breaking up the core set and/or goblins. The rest are below:

Quote

@Brandon - We often provide a way to get parts of the Core Sets later in the project, although we may be structuring those sub-parts differently this time.

Quote

@Back5 - Later in the campaign we will break the Core Set into smaller sub-sets, and backers can choose to get the full Core, or one or more smaller subsets. It is always a better value, price per model, to get the full core, however

Huzzah!

Who was looking for a thing to tip them over the edge and make them buy the core set?  Will a griffon do it?

Yah that would be me:huh: Well I am definitely getting the core set now I guess:mellow: Probably after the KS is over, but definitely going to get it now, just too much cool stuff.

Did not expect to see the griffon in the core set. Very cool!

Neither did I, and buying it separate when/if core set is broke out near end is probably not a good value (however I may buy an extra set just becuase grr)

Sigh, I really am going to end up getting the core set, aren't I?  There's no avoiding it.

YUP! No avoiding it now.

And I was one of those as well. Current spreadsheet says I'm still waiting for retail, but I am only 4 small figures, 3 medium figures, or 1 big figure away from getting the core. I was lowballing Gauth by about $10, so I've bumped him up the official value. I'm sitting at 14 figures in the core that I'd buy singularly, including the massive dragon.

When I first saw the core set I was 'slightly' disappointed, I'm not a fan of bipedal dragons and thought I didn't need any more goblins. I thought Reaper had released a weak-mediocre core this time around...however, the more I looked at the existing models (painted in metal), even Gauth, the more excited I got. I got my (very recently arrived) Bones 3 goblins out and cut them from their sprues and realised they're actually super sweet models (but I don't need any more goblins*). Then we've just got one gut punching reveal after another (even the kobolds are ok, I just personally don't really need any more kobolds*). The armoured gobs, villagers, devils, OCD-compliant guards with halberd in opposite hands, ratabomination...oh dear. And we're only 3 days in to a 30 day campaign! I'm beginning to think I'm not going to escape with less than $450...

Fortunately, I'm really not interested in the Chronoscope expansion, or the cutie dice and dragons...but oh, the trolls, the wraiths, the effing dragon turtle! Oh dear, oh dear...

*who am I kidding?

Hey, I haven't even told you about their intense fear of all plant life and how their new M.O. is "If its a plant, BURN IT!"

Speaking of which, plant creatures would be awesome! Shambling Mounds and Tendriculouses (or generic versions of same if those are copyrighted).

Haha! You attack players with plants too? Mine saw giant lily pads and decided they would support their weight. Chomp!

We always need more dwarf miniatures. How about some with beards and crossbows for a change

And big noses and axes and Saxon helmets.  Boy, are we lacking for those.
