I am going to take a guess....

But I think the thinking is more along the lines of: Why announce the KS to the old backers from the get go? If they are tuned into the FB page, and Reapers page they may already know about it. So the 1st 2 days will be big no matter what. Why not wait and send the announcement to the rest when the campaign has gotten a little bit of steam, but has hit a slow spot. Then instead of us dragging through the weekend waiting to unlock Rocky on Monday (Or whatever the stretch goal would have been going into this weekend), we unlocked him today, and now have the shorter stretch goals with minis that are generating a lot of excitement for the 'slow' weekend.

I agree, but that surge in particular seems to have turned this into a pretty spectacular day for Reaper. The way they plan, I'm guessing they did plan it this way, but $116k today is... beyond what I would have expected for day four, at least. They're usually down to the usual mid-campaign doldrums of $60k/day at this point. So... I'm curious!

A couple days ago, people were saying we needed more bandits in bones. Can I just say that... I don't get it? For me the difference between a 'bandit' and a 'hero' is mostly in the paint job.

Do a search on 'bones hood' and you'll find Assassins Fighters and Rangers who would all make perfectly good bandits with a scruffy paint job. (Lots of Rangers actually, some female.) That's without getting into the Halflings or Rogues. Just paint the clothes to be darker and stained, maybe freehand some mending or patches, you could even use an exacto knife to cut the edge of a cloak and make it tattered, and you have a bandit.

to each their own, but a lot of adventurers just don't say 'bandit' to me, no matter how i paint them. The 4 bandits in bones 3 were perfect. They had the simple leather clothes, simple weapons. No plate armor, no massive swords or shields, no heroic pose. I"d just like to see more bandits that are actually bandits rather than having to convert surplus adventurers into them, and rather than seeing yet more kobolds and yet  more goblins

I missed out on Bones 2 because of a lack of emails to me.

i still want a Roc. A big giant Roc

I read that in Dee Snyder's voice and then heard the guitars.

I missed this! We need a roc!

(The campaign I originally needed the roc for is past the point at which the Bones roc would have helped it, but I have spent some absurd amount of time looking for one, and I still haven't found a good replacement. There's nothing out there, Reaper! You can fix this! You alone can fix this~)

A Dire Gazebo on the back of a Flail Snail carrying a herd of Goats armed with lasers?

It's a little late to point this out, but we HAVE a dire gazebo in Bones - the Stone Circle fits the bill perfectly : )

hmm  not sure how i feel about the apes

on one hand, i don't think we have any apes

on the other hand, i'm not a ape fan xD

That's about my thoughts on them too. I don't mind. They're nice sculpts. And they'll be pretty smooth-sailing as far as paint jobs are concerned. But....

I don't have a purpose for them and am not a big ape fan to begin with (more of apathy - not a fan, not a hater).

More good stuff for my boyfriend to paint!

Every time I see apes I think about getting three of each:

One to paint black/dark brown

One to paint gold-orange

One to paint white (a.k.a. white apes and / or yeti)
