to each their own, but a lot of adventurers just don't say 'bandit' to me, no matter how i paint them. The 4 bandits in bones 3 were perfect. They had the simple leather clothes, simple weapons. No plate armor, no massive swords or shields, no heroic pose. I"d just like to see more bandits that are actually bandits rather than having to convert surplus adventurers into them, and rather than seeing yet more kobolds and yet  more goblins

Ok, that's what I wasn't getting. Simple leather armor, simple weapons (small swords, daggers, bows, clubs), no heroic pose. Sorry, I asked not to say they weren't needed, but because I genuinely did not understand what was being asked for.

With simple leather armor and simple weapons and no heroic poses... if the weapons could be cut off easily, they could possibly be made into towns folk as well.

I may not be excited about the apes - I am generally pretty 'meh' about monkey-folk - but I know someone's going to lose their pizza over them, and that is all good. I mean, /completely/ lose their pizza mind, pepperoni everywhere....

... damnit. When was dinner?

I am pretty excited about the griffon, though; I don't have nearly enough gryphon.

And wyvern! Gimme! ALL OF THE DRAGON!  ... sorry. lost it there for a second..

Anyone's that much of an ape fan, we're lucky if pizza is all that they're flinging about.

exactly! win-win!

mostly, we have a ton of regular monsters like goblins and kobolds, and a lot of PC adventurers, we realy want to flesh out the towns. So much of games happen in towns, with NPCs and nice town folk and then the low tier thugs, bandits, and thieves. Town guard, militia, etc. the simple thug guys could stand in for those too

I give it a week past them hitting retail (if it takes that long), for someone to mod one of those ape figures into Winston losing his temper all over somebody. Just 'cause Overwatch is /that popular/, and people who are not me do like the character.

probably, but there are much better minis to do that with

Doesn't surprise me. I don't pay much attention, 'cause .. well .. apes. Monkeys. Meh. ^^;

That having been said, they're Core, so if it turns out I have a use for them, I'll have them. This /could/ happen; there are giant monkeys in Pathfinder, and some of them are sapient and can and do wear armor of some sort. So, there's that.

We always need more dwarf miniatures. How about some with beards and crossbows for a change

And big noses and axes and Saxon helmets.  Boy, are we lacking for those.

While we're dreaming, how about asking for some with an ale tankard or a pick-axe.

OK,

...riddle me this. Where would I find dwarfs armed with bows?

Crossbows. Do. Not. Count.

Modern fantasy fandom has glommed onto a notion that dwarfs only ever use crossbows, for reasons that make no sense at all. Dwarfs: lots of upper body strength; lots of skill forging things of metal ... those two skill sets should result in compact, powerful, steel bows that can only be drawn by compact little archers with silly amounts of upper body strength:

Dwarves with bows.

But I know of only one blister of such...

DwarfArchers.jpg

...anywhere, ^ these guys ^.

Does any other figure maker arm dwarfs like those?

There is one type of Dwarf that is rare and almost unheard of.

I've got some 10mm Dwarves with bows.  They are for Kings of War so I'd be surprised if Mantic doesn't make some 28mm versions.

So it will be up to two maybe three sculpts...?

Red Box has one currently in production, Wilhelm the Pure, who I'd link but forum rules. Their kickstarter currently has two more dwarves with recurve bows, although they're posed somewhat similarly to each other and don't have the bow drawn.
