Very curious how the statues will do. Feels very niche to me, but then again, that seems to be a recurring theme this KS.

I will probably plonk down the five bucks for them, unless other spending gets ridiculous later.

Surprised we did not get the male and female pair as an offer.... at least we know what a future reveal will be.  There was a matching "Athena" sculpt on display last year, right next to the male sculpt. She's going to need multiple fig leaves.

Uhhh, cannot in good conscience say "grabby hands" but definitely find appealing.

The last two reveals (no pun intended until I typed it) have led to the discussion of whether reptiles should have boobage and whether the statues require fig leaves. (Or palm trees as a couple people referred to them, much to my delight!) Some funny conversations!

In before "why is it that if there are female minis they have to be naked/sexualized?"

But honestly, if we get female statues later in the campaign that would be the ideal scenario. 50/50 male to female is a dream. Now, if there just would be some more female orcs, hobgoblins, etc. I would be so happy.

It has snakes for hair. I'm guessing it is a gorgon.

Is it wrong that I look at a stylized plastic miniature concept, and think to myself, "Isn't the gorgon-faced shield most associated with Athena, and therefore Athenian rather than Spartan?"

I may be overthinking this. :upside:

Good morning from Colorado!

I haven't been on all weekend so I thought I would jump back into the discussion.

Love the apes (although I was holding out on the core set but these pushed me over the edge).  Not crazy about the Nagendra but I like the Captain and the Swordsman 1 and the kids can have the rest.

I'll be passing on the skeletal monsters and Spartan statues, as I only paint an don't game so I don't see much need.

As of right now I'm getting away pretty cheap as I only have the core set, Narglauth, and fire giant huntsman on my list right now.

Yeah, a capital lambda would seem more stereotypically Spartan.

And there is no such thing as "overthinking". There is only birth, thinking, and death.

And here you were thinking, not too long ago, that you might get away with only spending a buck. :)

We haven't even gotten to the silly stuff, yet...

I really like the statues. We will see how my budget holds (And if we get female ones) but I am always doing constructs, statue traps, puzzles etc.

Probably will order 8 total statues. That way I can have a hall of statues, paint 4 in different metal shades (for puzzles/scenarios requiring unique ones) and paint the 4 stone ones all the same (for no information scence). If I get male/ female it is all the better to telegraph even more for my players to misread.

After just getting bones 3 I figured I could take it lightly and skip the core set. But the focus on monsters animals and getting a big dragon included will likely make it a must again.
