I just posted about this in the Minis Request thread, but it occurred to me that if we could buy a metal Cyclops head that fit either of the existing Krug or Golan Hill Giants, we could have a Huge-sized Cyclops without having to produce a second Bones mold. 

 

The engineer in me says that the idea's a winner, but my internal marketing exec doesn't agree. . . .

Would it be easier to carve out the eyes of  "...Krug or Golan Hill Giants..." and then replace the gouged out area with a new single eye sculpted from green stuff. 

 

Joining a new metal head to the body is likely to involve some greenstuffery sculpting anyway...to clean up/disguise the severing at the neck.

Yeah sometimes wargaming companies go with plastic/metal or resin/metal hybrids to allow more varieties of troops but generally they are not well liked.

Would it be easier to remove and re-sculpt half the face?  Not for most people, I imagine.  The point of using one of those models is that the head is already a cast as a separate part, making it a natural piece to replace.  There's nothing to greenstuff that wouldn't be necessary with the stock model.

 

I could see weight being an unwanted factor with Krug.  When it comes to Golan, however, he's stable as a (three-legged) table.

    I'm thinking  a couple of small rare earth magnets; one in the tree, and one in the back of each victim will give a nice bit of flexibility to the Tree of Despair.   I wonder if the vultures could be mounted that way to...
