I know they have said they had some goals at first further apart so they could squish them together more in the middle.

Also they choose some stretch goals that they thought would be lower in popularity to display during the initial warm glow, so they could reveal things they felt were more likely to have higher popularity.

My understanding is so they could keep things a flowing during these times. Don't get me wrong I think we are making excellent progress, last night Because of me misreading the tracker I thought we were making gang buster progress.

Also so if anyone has any uptodate graph that shows the progress of all four KS, is love to see it.

One thing to keep in mind is this KS is more like 1 than 2 or 3.  I am sure we will get the end spike as well when it is time.  While our average pledge is still much lower I am hoping that will come up as people's orders get closer to the $200 range.  Ultimately we need *about* 18k backers at $200 a pop to beat bones 1.  Should be interesting though.

As companies release more products into the same small consumer markets, the volume of goods that they're able to sell tends to go down--at least as long as the old things are still out there, functioning.

We've seen declines in totals across all of the Bones kickstarters... I think it is reasonable to expect Bones IV to end up somewhere below Bones III in the final total.

Still, we've got a surprising number of backers for where we are in the longer campaign and we've only just now had the second expansion shown. There's potential for this to zoom right past III, maybe, and it looks like Reaper is going to do their damnedest to try to make that happen.

Should be fun!

I think it may be slightly or better then KS3, in that they are now in a spot were they can really hit "cool" stuff while also being able to offer stuff for the first time pledger. Many NPC's and monsters for the first time person who needs them, but also cool stuff like wraiths, high rollers, rocky, etc. And also big stuff like statutes and not Balrog:) as we get to -10 days till end, I think this will be a roller coaster ride.

Well, I finally caught up here, so I guess I'll finally unpack my Bones III package while I wait. :D

Hehe I cataloged my bones III core set, but thats as far as I have gone. Need to finish my unboxing video and post to youtube:)

I hope the dire crab and the treasure pile for the dragon turtle are similar enough to make tamatoa from Moana.  Just sounds like fun.

OMG! My kids would love that (*sniff* one more thing to budget for *sniff*)

By the way, I missed pledging for Bones III, BUT I acquired a core set, would that still be considered "supporting" bones III?

All have the same upkick at the end.  It all depends on the final reveals as to how steep it is.  That not even Reaper can predict.  Probably not in B1 range maybe between B1 and B2 but it looks to beat B3.  Just my guess.  3M to 3.2M so say 3.14159M as my guess (my initials TT)

I don't follow the tracking that closely, but I did compare day 3 of bones 3 with day 3 of this KS, and we were further behind at the time, which was a bit of a shame. I'll admit, at this point, there hasn't been much that has gotten me nearly as excited as I remember being during Bones 3. It might be being more experienced, but I'm not just super excited by this one so far, and that makes me sad.

So, seeing that the miniatures in the Bones 4 core set are numbered, but not those of the optional rewards or the Dreadmire Expansion, and that the ones of the Chronoscope expansion start with 301... Does that mean that we can expect to have potentially 300 models in the core set?

Many things are possible; that seems unlikely (based on previous projects, mold costs, fulfillment costs, and the like). Though I doubt there will be more than 300 figures in the core set.

Yeah, just for fun, I went back to the same funding level on B3 to see what it would have had. It looks like Pathfinder I and Stoneskull expansions were probably announced as goals and on the horizon. At that point, there were many more figures that were interesting to me. I'm not at the same level this time around. Maybe it's the more narrow interest of the components, and so miss me and my attention.

That said, I'm still compulsively checking the progress way more often than really needed. I know the next announcement is more than 12 hours away, and so doesn't need looked at every other hour. Yet, I still do it.

well that just may be a convenient numbering convention, as in KS 3 the core set started at 101.

A direct number comparison of $s to Bones 3 will look like this KS is way behind. Bones 3 at this same point was entering the last week when things explode. A better comparison is to overlay the slopes of each graph to see where gains and dips are with each other. When that is done, you can see clearly that Bones 4 is growing at the same rate as Bones 2.

Something that gets lost in comparing direct numbers is that after the first 24hrs and 48hrs of Bones 3 and Bones 2 respectively is that Bones 4 is gaining more backers per day than the other two. Right now, if Bones 4 didn't get a single new backer it would still have roughly the same number of backers per day as Bones 2 and 3. It's that larger pool of backers now that will propel Bones 4 to be within striking range of Bones 2's total.
