My guess is an area where "normal" food is in short supply and desperate people will eat just about anything.  They may have figured out that this normally poisionous fish wasn't after it was rotting.  (they didn't eat it, it rotted, they got hungry enough and realized that it didn't kill them).

Or it was a dare.

I've always wondered that with the Japanese and box fish.  How can you find that something is edible if you have to train for years to prepare it?

Any way recently pledged into Bones 4 (finally).. Though still waiting Bones 3 here in the UK. Should be soon now, looking at the tracker thing. I like the idea of Female giants in action poses. Not sure if I would get them though, since my main weakness is Dragons, Dragons,.... and more Dragons. So a Wyvern or a Wyrm would suit me.

Hakarl... greenland shark that is poisonous when fresh. It is beheaded, gutted, and pressed so all juices leave the body. It is then buried for several weeks for it to ferment before being cut into strips, dusted with fermentation product, and hung to dry for 4-5 months. It posses a strong ammonia and fishy smell.

Yea, I don't think I am adventurous with foods as I like to believe. O__o

Isn't that the greenland shark that can live up to 450 years if left alone?

Coin flip, given that we're talking about Icelanders. :poke:

Note: Fermented fish sauce has been a popular condiment in many societies around the world, including ours. (That's what Worcestershire sauce is.)

Went through my spreadsheet, and I've culled a lot of the add-ons. Giants, trees, and huts aren't my thing I've decided. Down to demons, dice-men, cutesy dragons, turtley dragons, rotting dragons (pending goal), and the soda machine (pending goal). I even went through Chronoscope's expansion with a fine toothed wallet comb, but looks like I'm still "in" on that one. It's interesting that I'm a sci-fi primary, but the Dreadmere currently has more that I like in it.

Haven't decreased my pledge as I'm sure things will appear that appeal. And really not sure why I felt like I had to share this. Oh well.

There's a point where food becomes non-food. Cheese into mold, leftovers into rot, hot coffee to lukewarm.

There's a point where non-food becomes food. Wort into beer, pumpkin into pie, flour into cookies.

There have been wars fought over this. Mostly in kitchens during Thanksgiving. Many casualties. The dogs remember those battles fondly.

I don't have any desire or use for female giants in action poses, but I support those who want them.  Why can't we have equally nice lady giants in the mix?

Will they sell as well as some other possible miniature? (I honestly have no idea; but that's the sort of thing Reaper makes money by knowing.)

Ah, Thanksgiving Wars;  I love the RPG for that.  I used to play a 5th level Assistant Cook, but often just ended up arguing with the other players.  Now I'm a 12th level Crazy Uncle, and it's much more enjoyable.

Absolutely agree. We had TWO female hill giants in the campaign my huz is currently running (Storm King's Thunder) that interacted with the players. We used the female Ogre from Bones 3 for the second one but it's just frustrating to see three more sculpts get released and they are all so similar. I'm skipping all the hill giants in this but if Reaper made a female giant warrior add-on pack (maybe a hill, fire, frost, and storm or stone) all in dynamic poses I would definitely get it. I hope they do some day include that in their catalogue.

Couldn't agree more. Actually, I was feeling that in Bones 3. I love giant minis. They're easily one of my favorite enemies in games, and even though the giants in Bones 3 were all great sculpts and I could definitely use them, I skipped getting any because not one set had a battle ready female. So far it's the same here. I say that as someone who's favorite giant sculpt is Yephima. I love pretty giant minis. Cheesecake and relaxed pose giants are wonderful to paint. Just not every female giant. 5 to 0 for hill giants is starting to look a little inexcusable. I bought 2 set of the hill giants in Bones 2. Love the big muscly things. This isn't a SJW thing. I think most of that movement is obnoxious. I just need some fighting female enemies for gaming, and as more and more giants are rolled out the lack of females that can be used on a map to threaten my players becomes more and more inexplicable.

I'm 100% not saying this to criticize Reaper. I love Reaper, love the metal line and love the Bones line. Just offering a little feedback. In for the core, wraiths, Narglauth, the Tree of Despair and plan to add much more.

'Cos Reaper already has seven "nice" lady giants, half of whom are already in Bones.

People tell me I should prestige class into Cool Aunt but that requires some 1st level humans running around and no one seems to want to add levels in Parent. Instead I just keep dumping levels into Black Sheep with a level dip into Backstabbing Gossip-Broker. I did that for the red wine bonuses.

Yes but how many are in dynamic poses and look like they are really ready to fight?..  Heck skadi is the only female giant that is in a battle ready scene in the reaper line.
