I just realized an issue with the High Rollers........the d12 should have been a barbarian, not wizard. Why? Because on the game table the d12 gets absolutely no love except from the barbarian class, with the d12 hit die and the d12 damage from the greataxe.

Wait....so what you're saying is that we're getting IRON MAIDEN miniatures?!?!??!??!???  Is that the band, or the various incarnations of Eddie? Or Both?

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  \m/

That would be the only thing cooler than a Wolf-Dragon!

Those would go well with the giant Snaggletooth and Bomber. And of course the huge lifesize Lemmy statue.

For the hill giants especially, i'd like to see a female that mataches them. Which means probably not our standard of 'beauty'

the reason being, i dislike it when a female of a species might as well a completely new species instead of a female of that actual species.

So if the hill giants are lanky, large, muscles, and vaguely 'cave man' in facial appearance, i don't want some amazonian beautiful woman for their female version. It'd be like world of warcraft and the drastic, severe difference in gender between, say, the Troll male and the Troll female, where one looks like a monstrous humanoid and the other looks like a lovely human woman with blue skin and long canine teeth.

I want female giants that match the theme of the males. If the giants are relatively human like (like the storm or fire), then sure, the female can be just as lovely. But the hill giants are NOT lovely by our standards, and i don't want to see some gorgeous beauty for a hill giant female...i want to see something that looks like she belongs in the hill giant species

There are plenty of examples where one gender of a species is much more attractive than the plain (or even downright ugly) other member of the species - peacocks and peahens, ducks, humans... ;)

Possible Solution: GET TWO.

No need to decide.

... if you want to paint one as Thunderbird..... get three. >.>

I'll be doing this :D

I thought I was getting a phoenix in Rising Sun, but it;s actually a humanoid phoenix (super cool but not a massive fiery bird). So looks like I'll need to get multiples of this for my Roc and Phoenix needs!

I would LOVE to sculpt Eddie someday. He's just too iconic though to do without license.

In the case of birds, the males would have to be attractive while the females would have to be drab. Most species where there is a significant difference in appearance would skew this way in fact.

It's been pointed out that this means the females are directing the evolution of the species by their choices and taste in feathers.

Humans? ;) And giants aren't birds ;p (except for giant birds).

Point was, the fugliness of one gender of a species doesn't necessarily predict the other. I seem to remember some alien race where the males were hideous (really hideous, like monstrous) and the females were very attractive (from a human perspective). Now, this was probably largely influenced by 1960s standards in sword and sorcery, but to put an 'evolutionary' spin on it: Perhaps female giants are attractive (according to human norms) for the same reason human females are - symmetry and smoothness of skin indicates genetic fitness and absence of disease, indicating a mate that will produce strong and healthy children. But for males in an aggressive culture, large muscles, intimidating appearance, scars and other indications of martial prowess (and therefore fitness for survival) would be selection criteria for preferential mates. (I loved the whole backstory of Mokmurrian in Rise of the Runelords, where he was a runtish stone giant outcast by his tribe, which led him to find ways to gain power and revenge over those who'd bullied him - thus leading him to Karzoug and his ultimate entrapment).
