Reaper Bones 4: Enthusiasm and Commentary Thread

The long campaign seems to be working for Reaper, especially since it's summer and a lot of people are on vacation.  It just feels like we've been waiting for the final few days for so long now!  Hopefully the marathon style of the campaign doesn't wear out poor Bryan.

Now if only they'd add some cavalry already...

I'm sure allowing funds to be added later has some sort of effect on the KS, but I'd bet Reaper is able to account for the difference -- especially after having run several of these.

Personally, I'm going to hit the ceiling on what I'd planned on spending on the Kickstarter, but since the PM is remaining open, I'll be able to spend more money over time.

True, but could it end up hurting their ability to get new molds for the items that the KS potentially misses? I assume they want those in retail at some point.

Guessing @Reaperbryan has this all sorted out and has weighed the pros and cons already though. I'm not worried if he and the other ringleaders aren't worried.

...I'm just fidgeting hoping for the big dragon fight to show up :B):

Hmm.. I can do ~$200 right now.  Over the next 9 months I am sure $50+ a month will be added.  If they didnt allow that $200 is all they get.  So even if PM was not open for 9 more months they still get just $200 from me.  Not sure the PM staying open for 9 months makes that much of a difference on the KS but does send more money their way in the end.

Yeah, it hurts the kickstarter for sure, less funds available to unlock things with the Pledge Manager allowing for added funds. However, Reaper can't be losing anything by doing it this way, they have to have thought through having the Pledge Manager allowing added funds later.

They did this on Bones 3 with it very clearly stated up front and Bones 2 being more nebulous.  It didn't hurt either of them in any way.

With a longer campaign, and thus more things being revealed, there will probably be more people hitting their limits during the campaign. I'm glad that the pledge manager will stay open for so long since I'm at the end of what I can reasonably do now, but I'd like some more of the things that are being teased or revealed still.

I am happy that this is a longer campaign myself. I think Bones 3 was probably a little too short. Not sure the length of the kickstarter really changes much though, Reaper has a great reputation with kickstarters.

Just now, Bathory said:

Didn't we unock everything in the last KS and they had nothing left? Or was that another one. And we had the ability to add to the PM after the KS.

Reaper has everything planned out.

That was definitely the case with Bones 1 but I'm pretty sure that Bones 2 and 3 had plenty more lined up.

I'm still waiting on a camping set (tents, bedrolls, campfire) and horses with a wagon or carriage.

Those things might seem mundane but they'd get a lot of use and would be an instant buy for me.

I backed the Mantic Terrain Crate Kickstarter earlier this year to get things like that. Not sure when they'll hit retail but it's supposed to deliver May 2018. You may even still be able to sign up post Kickstarter.

What am I getting?

For sure:

Core set

Wraiths

All the hill giants.

trolls

skeletal monsters

Baaba Yaga's hut

Dreadmere

Depending on available cash:

paint sets

tree of woe/despair

Darkreach

living statues

Dance of dragons

The big wyvern

BTW, regarding my favorite adventuring duo:

torlan-and-bufo.PNG.b450a7ba3508063e3c4cc8344dd1db8b.PNG

The croc's name is Torlan, which is Welsh for "riverbank." That seems pretty dang appropriate in my estimation. Bufo, as you might know, is Latin for "toad." I imagine he'd be quite rankled if you called him a frog.

seriously cannot wait to get my hands on those two.

edit: Er, hope I didn't make it sound like I came up with those names. It's not in this image, but Reaper named these two!
