Are those of you who are planning on getting dance of death planning on using it for gaming or as a display piece?

I only buy for gaming in mind which is gonna put me out of the running for DoD since the legs are sculpted to the tail which makes me sad but im hoping another dragon might make its appearance to appease those wanting more dragons

If the connection points aren't too bad, I could have two dragons for gaming. Possibly embed some magnets so that it can be switched from display rock to indivdiaul gaming base.

Generally speaking, I only buy for gaming.  We don't really have a lot of spare space at our house for display pieces.

 

That said, Dance of Death is really cool.  The tech lab at our high school has a lot of gaming and sci-fi memorabilia on display (blueprints of the Enterprise, Skyrim maps, etc.) so I'm thinking about painting it up to display in the lab if the tech teacher is interested.

yeah thats what im thinking too, wonder if someone at reaper would be able to take some close ups of it to see if a scalpel will be enough to get two nice sculpts

More pigs. More Dire Crabs. Maybe another wyvern or griffon. Another Cave Troll. Maybe another tormentor. I'll wager they won't be broken up that individually, so I'll be choosy. Have to see, too, as breaking it up piecemeal might make me drop the Core and go ala cart.

Note that it's extraordinarily unlikely that Dance of Death will be a single piece. (I doubt that would actually be possible, FWIW.) Now, whether the pieces it breaks into will be easy to combine into one or two dragons that can be used separately is unknowable now, but don't expect that you'll get that piece as a whole.

I do not game much anymore, so my miniatures are either display,practice or sell on Ebay once I am done (I have limited space, so if I kept everything I build/paint I'd need a house just for display:( )

Trust me, the projections aren't completely accurate because it doesn't take into account the big rise at the end. It's because there are quite a few people who had clicked on the 'Remind Me' button and then didn't focus on the Kickstarter, and when they receive their notice they take a look at it and start putting in their pledges, which causes more stretch goats to be unlocked, which raises even more pledges, which opens more stretch goats, ad infinitum or until the Kickstarter ends. That's why you see that huge spike near the end of all the other Bones campaigns.

 From what I can tell going solely off the image we've been shown, in my personal opinion separating the Dance into two separately usable dragons on regular bases is going to be extremely difficult and require a hell of a lot of work. But theoretically might be possible.

 

As near as I can puzzle out from looking at it blown up to 200%, the dragons most likely aren't going to be completely separate from each other, unless they choose to go with a whole lot of little pieces :

 They appear to be touching in several places (upper dragon's left front foot to the lower dragon's right wing, upper dragon's right back foot to lower dragon's left front foot, it sort of looks like lower dragon's back right foot is grabbing the upper one's tail, possibly the tails touch each other down near the ends at the base, etc.), which, of course, would be necessary for balance and support.  Which means that it's entirely possible (and would make sense structurally) that some of the larger pieces may well contain chunks of both dragons... (For example, one way they might theoretically divide it is to make the lower dragon's right wing and the upper dragon's left front leg as one piece, and then have the front legs/shoulders of the lower dragon be a single piece with the back legs/hips of the upper dragon (which look like they actually might be separate from its body/tail in the pic)...)
