Apparantly it's a rather complicated process. I'm not from Norway or Switzerland, so I never had to go through it. I think the non-EU Europeans are just looking for a comment or Update acknoledging they exist and that Reaper is thinking about a solution. And according to some people from those countries in the comments, paying double-VAT is something that happens to them. 

Also, Switzerland in particular only has a 8% VAT rate, while the PM collects 20% from all Europeans right now, as far as I can see. So obviously they really don't want to prepay VAT.

 

Edit: Personally, I'm okay with paying VAT. It was kinda too good to be true the way it was shown before. Importing things from the US you also always have to pay VAT here in Germany, plus a handling fee. You also have to pay customs over a certain $ amount I would certainly reach. Customs we should still not have to pay when importing from the UK, unless bad Brexit laws happen. 

It just really was a shock yesterday to basically go over budget without picking any of the nice new shiny things.

Normal situation - I order from Reaper in USA.

I pay normal price.

Items arrive in The Netherlands ( EU)

Customs charge me for VAT/Taxes.

 

KS situation - I order through PM

I pay KS price + VAT/ Taxes

Items arrive in The UK ( AFTER BREXIT)

UK is now no longer EU and sends my items to the Netherlands.

Since UK is no longer EU.

Customs charge me for VAT/Taxes. AGAIN!!!!
 

UNLESS...it is made clear to our customs that I already paid that.

Now this is what I want to know...will this be handled?

 

Because I also saw a comment about...if that happens just file a complaint...I'm not going to do that.

If this means me paying taxes twice..I will cancel.

Only if this is handled I will stay in.

 

Still waiting for an official answer.

If I don't get one by the time the KS ends. I will cancel.

Don't let them bother you buddy!  Hopefully Reaper can get your questions answered before the end.  I would hate to lose your pledge money but most importantly I would hate for you to miss out on the Lost World!

 

Having just got on to the KS and forum it seems like things really slowed down.  Am I wrong?  Maybe the VAT is having a big impact?

Honestly it's probably the best to go through the comments of the Update where the VAT was announced and answer the many valid questions there. 

In a lot of cases all the people want to hear "you won't have to pay VAT twice anyway, if the laws change we will refund your prepaid VAT".

@Nunae - you're asking me to answer the "what if" one one possible scenario on a law that hasn't been written. 
it would be ILLEGAL for us to collect taxes and a) fail to pay them for you or b) refund them if the law did not permit us to pay them.

Think it's been a lot of the VAT issue but I could be wrong.  Its hard to find the motivation to read through that many messages.

Reaper has some great customer service, so if issues arose outside of what has been covered regarding VAT and customs, I suspect they'd work with you @Glitterwolf to get trouble resolved (within legal boundaries of course).

Are you aware the gas stations are low/empty on vehicle nectar?  It has been a little nuts up here the last 2 days.  up to 20 min waits or just no gas at all when you visit a location.  Just wanted to make sure anyone driving a distance to get here knew the situation and to be prepared.

Well, it would just be nice to get a comment like "we will work with all of you, noone is going to pay double VAT if there is a way around it" (and that might be shipping from the US directly if the laws change after Brexit) under the Update thread. 

I'm not determined to be unhappy however hard they or whatever, but there are a lot of unresolved questions brought up by backers which those backers want answers to before this KS ends and that's understandable to me.
