What is the five style?

(btw someone might have posted something about the not-Stegadon and the not-Carnosaur on the Lizardman army forum... )

Any rumors that I might try to work those models into a KoW Salamanders army are scurrilous lies.

Resin is just so pricey

look at how much the resin ma'al was  way out of budget

Yeah. The price for Ma'al was absolutely absurd. And it's not Reaper's fault, that's just what it costs. Of course, there wasn't anything special about resin Ma'al other than it being resin. Resin Nethyrmaul sold out pretty quick, but that was special in other ways...

Ma'al also was much larger in resin.. and if there are bigger things coming, they may opt for one of those items in resin instead.. but DoD in resin would be a show piece for painters and depending on what else is in the cannon waiting to be fired, it seems like a logical choice. especially since they have the prototype already..

This (more accurate) interpretation causes me to believe that if non-avian dinosaurs existed today, they'd be much more likely to stop traffic than eat people.

Jurassic Park II's opening is the worst for this. Those compsognathuses are pigeon-sized! I'm surrounded by pigeons constantly and have yet to be eaten by them!

For the little ones, sure, but I, for one, would be suitably terrified by an 8-ton death-chicken.

That would still be an animal, and they are not just more animal sculpts.  Gotta break that typecast. :poke:

But... that could be anything!

I'm about a decade behind on my paleontology. What are T-rexes supposed to look like now?

Also, 8-ton Death Chicken is now my polka metal band name.

Per Dr. Thomas Holtz, noted paleontologist:

MOST carnosaurs (aka "allosauroids") had 3 fingers. Tyrannosaurids (w/ only 2 fingers) and ceratosaurs (w/ 4 stumpy ones) aren't carnosaurs

I would want it in Resin for the detail and there instant gratification to paint it without waiting for my Bones one

Luckily this is a Blacktooth! They have 3 fingers, so they must be a relative of  carnosaurs living in the Lost Valley

Oh yeah, the compys irk me, but all the bigger stuff, well...

Dinosaurs are real, they will absolutely wreck you, and of course, they live in Australia. Where else?

On the one hand, I think the Jurassic Park look is far more badass. On the other hand, the planet Earth just earned itself another point in the Really Really Weird Place column, and that's always a good thing.

Just gonna take me a while to reconcile the idea that Earth's mightiest land predator had a face like a Great Dane.

I'm sorry but fluffy chicken dinos are hilarious. I would cackle gleefully at its stupid fluffy self all the way down its throat as it ate me. They're just so cute

Do you get to see any of the sculpts (or masters or whatever they are) that they have shown in the preview videos at the parties?  Or do they keep those locked up somewhere?

Will we have them on display tomorrow at the party?

My understanding is yes, we will.

      Andowyn Thrushmoor!
It's been awhile since I've painted a plain ol' character miniature. I spent the better part of today working on her and I’m overall pleased with how she came out. I really want to double my skill level by the time Bones V is delivered and I’m proud of my progress! Slowly but surely figuring out how to do faces, this one looks pretty okay, though her right eye is funky.

Since this is my first form post, the picture is her next to my first miniature! It's about four years old and I keep it around the rest of my collection in a place of honor

If anybody here loves cavern terrain and missed DF's first cavern KS KS2, this spring/summer around June DF will have KS6. The theme of KS6 will be Return to the Caverns and should be great fun for those who took part in KS2 or those who are new to DF.

DF had this to say and showed the below teaser pics

We're doing for Caverns what Dungeon of Doom did for Dungeons. A whole new batch of fun pieces to enhance your existing collection, but also completely stand-alone.

      Some of the key features:
New Core Shapes (diagonal wall, convex curves, 1" pieces, etc)
      Passages
Elevation (with stuff that's impossible on graph paper...)
Negative Space pieces (and new Terrain Trays)
      Flashy Pieces (Magnets & LEDs)
      Large pieces (4x4 and larger)

This looks like a very interesting board game with lots of new, fresh ideas and cool artwork (and nice minis - there is even a pledge level for just the minis: around 15 of them for $20 plus shipping):

      About this project

It's a harsh but lucrative business being a mercenary out on the edge of civilization. You must explore the harsh wilderness and engage in deep tactical combat, where the decisions you make have an impact not only on your own character, but also the world around you.

Gloomhaven is cooperative game of card-driven combat set in a persistent fantasy campaign which will change and grow as you play the game.
There is always more to unlock and explore in the world of Gloomhaven.

If you missed the first Gloomhaven Kickstarter (and retail sold out quickly) here is your chance. I backed that game the first time around and could not be happier with the results. Warning ... that box is heavy ...
