PSA:

THE SOONER YOU LOCK YOUR FIRST PLEDGE IN THE SOONER YOUR STUFF GETS SHIPPED IN YOUR WAVE.

So, if I was in wave 1 and was the first person to lock in, my goodies would be shipped first, no matter how many additional orders I did. But if I'm in wave 1 and I don't bother locking anything in until July 31, well, I may not be dead last, but I won't be first.

Now, this excludes international backers. All their stuff gets boxed up and set out before NA.

Also, note that once reaper gets the gears on their shipping construct oiled up nicely, each wave only takes like, a day and half, or so.

But some people care about being first

So what matters is when you first lock in?  Adding stuff later won't move me back down the list?  So if I just lock in with one of the cheaper add ons that will set me as early on in wave 1?  Even if I add more later?

That's the way it worked for Bones 3. I haven't seen a statement from Reaper that it will work the same way in Bones 4.

But I locked in my first stuff anyway.

Yes, the first lock in is what matters. That is how it worked on Bones 3 (so I've gathered), though there is no guarantee it will work the same way this time. Reaper has stated (in regards to other things) that just because it was done one way in the past does not mean it will be again.

I locked in my first order. I'm probably going to break it down into $100 orders every couple of months or so. I had already picked out my must haves so I know what my eventual total will be (plus shipping), so I took screen caps of everything I'd selected, dumped it all into paint and will X things off as I order them. It's very handy that the pledge manager shows what you've already ordered, I've always really liked that feature, but this way I can track what all I definitely want so that I don't miss out on anything and I can jumble things around so that I can stay within my $100 chunk budgets.

So, first order down and the next one will probably be the end of November, but it's all set up and ready to go for that one as well.

That's pretty much exactly my plan too, with the exception that I'm more indecisive than you are, so I haven't completely decided which things I'll be ordering.

Locked in for the core set, each of the expansions, and shipping.

Yay! Locked in my first selections. Sounds like my initial idea was very similar to yours.

2017 Core Set x1
Dreadmere Expansion x1
Darkreach Expansion x1
Lost Valley Expansion x1
High Rollers x1
Paint Set B x1
Monsters x1
Fan Favorites x1

That'll have to tide me over for a month or so, then time for more.

I would be very curious to see how much more is put in the PM versus on Kickstarter. Anecdotal accounts seem to point to just about everyone planning on at least a little more. However ,that is just the diehards on the comments sections so it may be small relative to average backers.  I certainly plan on it and I hope it makes Reaper tons of money and allows them to adjust their calculations for future kickstarters. It doesn't make business sense to assume that money will be there as they have to pay for artists and molds now, not next July, but it certainly would be a great way to pay bonuses to people like Bryan and start commissioning crazy awesome sculpts for Bones 5.

For now I'm ok...

I might add more stuff later.

Bases come to mind, one can never have enough bases.

And Maybe I will get Gauth, I like his pose, maybe without his wings he could be a huge Lizard Monster....

I didn't get Baba Yaga's Hut, maybe I will want it anyway, lose the chicken legs and make an eerie home for a diorama.

Oh well, we have time....

I have a question about fulfillment.  When did or how long before fulfillment of Bones 3 did the pledge manager close?  I am just wondering if from July 31 2018 to February 2019 is realistic for the orders to be produced?

I thought that production would be the long part of the process but that doesn't seem to be the case.  Or will they start production sooner than that and then finalize the totals needed after the PM closes?

I am willing to wait because I know Reaper will deliver but I am just curious what you all think.

Normally I am pretty impatient with these kind of things but I think having the PM open so long will help give me patience since I will need to put in a little bit each month to be able to afford everything I want.  (I also have a couple other KS that should deliver between now and then to hold me over)

In order for production to actually begin, final sculpts for all figures have to be made/accepted. Molds have to be planned, made, tested. Only after that stuff is done will production really ramp up. Some of the figures will begin production earlier than others.

The B3 PM Closed in June, and fulfillment was in May - so about 10 months.

But we use the PM to get approximate numbers - with 50% of backers reporting, we can extrapolate to a reasonable degree of accuracy what the final tallies will be, and issue 2 POs. One for "best estimate based on numbers as of November 1 this year" and one in August 2018 that revises up anywhere we were off.
