What mini are you most excited to paint?  The giant sloth.

Which mini do you think will be the hardest/take you the longest to paint?  Tree-man.

What mini are you buying the most of (now or planned at retail)?  Townsfolk, as usual.  I love NPCs.  I also love turning some of these into PCs.

What do you hope to see most in Bones 5?  Tough to say - Reaper does such a good job of producing stuff that I didn't know I wanted!  I certainly didn't see Dreadmere coming, for example... I hope they keep great surprises coming!  Also:

  • "Chronoscope" stuff - I love the weird mixes of Mythos, post-apocalyptic, pulp, steampunk, and other genres that have appeared in the past, I love finding ways to adapt them to genres I game in, and hope they continue to appear as parts of core sets and in stand-alone expansions in the future.  I hope to see Bones versions of Reaper's Superheros and Anime characters - I don't game in those genres, but they seem like fun models, and, as always, finding ways to put them to use in fantasy and other genres will be fun.
  • An "Astral Plane" themed expansion:  A Chinese-style dragon, a handful of Astral Reavers and Monks ("not-Gith"), some kung-fu monks (and ninja and samurai types) and psionic type characters suitable for both PCs and NPCs (Xiang Lung makes a great NPC as well; some new townsfolk in this theme would also be welcome), a small pagoda-shrine and a gong for scenic items, Bakarathi, some bizarre Yokai monsters and weird astral spirits and monsters....
  • A "Desert" themed expansion:  More KS4-style Ghouls, more Djinn and Ifriti, more pack camels, some obelisk/monument/sarcophagus/canopic jar scenics bits, "Arabian Nights" human PC/NPC characters (Reaper has some fine metal characters that never made it to Bones; Merchant and Dancing Girls are also great NPCs), Scorpionman, Sphinx, bald "post-apocalyptic desert Dwarfs" ("not-DarkSun Dwarfs"), Mantis-Men, Bast cat goddess idol/statue/shrine, more Catfolk PC/NPC characters....
  • A "Pulp Island" themed expansion:  Tiki Golem, Cannibal Halfling tribe with stew pot, outrigger canoe, sea serpent, sea creatures, Easter Island head-style scenic, seafarer/pirate and islander PC/NPC characters (Reaper has lots of pirate characters in their metal catalog that have never made it to Bones; some new friendly townsfolk in this theme would certainly be welcome, and there are also some pulp/historical Zulu warriors who would make great mook villains and also barbarian-type PCs), Deep One hybrid fish-men and merfolk, were-Montauk Monster zombies, evil monkeys, Swamp Shambler....

Just some crazy ideas, they're fun to come up with :)

I'm not sure if I missed them previously or not, but came across a set of bases I didn't have on my tracking spreadsheet when I was looking through the pledge manager again:

So glad they added the 20mm! I love those for hordes of goblins and kobolds and was worried I might run out by the time b4 fulfills.

I hope Reaper continues the trend of Bones 4 to primarily sell monsters or non-adventurer NPCs. There are waaaayy to many possibel race and class combinations to make everyone happy within a Bones KS, and I would rather not have a bunch of super strange PC minis I will probably never use. Also, I liked the female creatures in this KS and would like to see more. More precisely, I would like more hags/witches (old ugly European fairytale ones).

Yaasss. NPCs. Monsters. Female monsters. Old/ugly female NPCs and monsters like hags. This bones 4 campaign was definitely great for all of the above, but I will always be happy to see more.

Deep ones got bonesified B3. They're in the mythos expansion. I eagerly await their retail release since I didn't get that expansion and I really love those sculpts!

I don't know how I'd completely forgotten there were full-blown Deep One fish-men in the last Kickstarter - I did get the expansion.  I looked through my box of unpainted minis yesterday and somehow missed them!  I guess I'd forgotten there was that much cool stuff in the Mythos expansion - Deep ones, Mi-Go, a Dark Young, even a Gug and a couple nameless amorphous tentacle-things, in addition to cultists and scenics and so on- I wonder why I remember people complaining that there was nothing but adventurers in that expansion?  Still, some hybrid half-human guys would certainly be nice to see, too....

Then again, we might already have plenty of mutants and half-men, so why add more, when we could do something totally new? What other monsters would go nice with a sort of pulp island/jungle/pirate theme that haven't already been done?

What mini are you most excited to paint?

The Stygian Barge. I know most people are all about Dance of Death, and don't get me wrong, I think DoD is gorgeous and I look forward to painting it too, but the barge is calling to me the most.

Which mini do you think will be the hardest/take you the longest to paint?

The Stygian Barge is going to be really time consuming for sure, but I'm thinking that painting @TaleSpinner's awesome Mystic Portal may prove the hardest to really do it justice. (I didn't get a chance to say so during the KS because I was murdering myself trying to get Ma'al Drakar painted, but I meant to tell you, Andy, how fantastic your portal is - I knew I was getting that expansion the second I saw it!)

What mini are you buying the most of (now or planned at retail)?

I don't have any plans right now of getting multiples of anything. Mind you, I don't play tabletop games, so I don't have any NEED for multiples of anything like a lot of people do. I had originally thought that I would get multiples of a couple of things, but that's looking less likely since my wants list grew more than I was anticipating. Getting one copy of all of the things I want > getting multiples of anything.

Although, now that I think about it, I will likely get the Ghost Pirates in metal if/when they're released because those were some of my absolute favourite sculpts, but I prefer metal for smaller figures. But I'm also getting them in Bones because they're too awesome to pass up.

What do you hope to see most in Bones 5?

I'll continue to hold out hope that we'll one day see a Cat Dragon.

I use a PDF arena from World Works as my paint rack - I print up new sections when we get new paits.

aw-promof-04.jpg

The seating is perfectly spaced for GW paint bottles (at least the old bottles) and works well for dropper bottles as well.

I used a hole punch on the tops of the tower to make a brush holder.

The Auld Grump - the arena itself saw use in Mordheim as Piotr's Pit - it came as a surprise when he turned out to be a worshiper of Khorne....

Went to the World Works forums, and discovered that the thread had been updated a while back... because somebody needed a rack for his paints from a Reaper Bones Kickstarter....

Dance of Death! Half of it at least!

What mini will be the hardest/take longest to paint?

Same!

What mini are you buying the most?

...I have no idea! Maybe all the hill giants?

What do you most want to see in Bones V?

Reven style orcs! Big and brutish, good for characters in an army.

The Auld Grump

I did this and got the idea from Talae, who I believe got it from Didymous. The circle of life!

What mini are you most excited to paint?

The rulers of hell set (is that cheating?). The female demon. Is she Sophie's mom?

Which mini do you think will be the hardest/take you the longest to paint?

I want to say Dance of Death or Argent. I have yet to paint figures of that size. Shoot, my largest figure painted was the stone giant from KS2.

What mini are you buying the most of (now or planned at retail)?

Multiple copies of Blacksting. Lots of practice and then eventually I can paint them up as dragons from Game of Thrones and gift them to my non-miniature painting friends.

What do you hope to see most in Bones 5?

Dire platypus. Other than that, more buildings/terrain stuff. Generic superhero figures would be nice.
