Ok, this was the first reference I could locate from Bones 3 confirming that the figure from that Kickstarter was nicknamed Sophie's Mom, (I'm sure there's more references if you anyone dig's harder). From the Bones 3 Post Kickstarter thread:

What mini are you most excited to paint?  Baba Yaga's Dancing Hut.  After running "Reign of Winter" and crafting my own, I'm obsessed.

Which mini do you think will be the hardest/take you the longest to paint?  The Stygian Barge or the Pathfinder Iconics.

The Barge is big and detailed, but Pathfinder Iconics are always super-busy and take me a long time to paint.

What mini are you buying the most of (now or planned at retail)?  I don't do "clones" so I do not plan on getting any extra of any of the sculpts.  I have a large collection, enough to not have to worry about using doubles to fill out most encounters.

What do you hope to see most in Bones 5?

  • female Hill Giant
  • updated and upscaled Cloud Giants and Storm Giants...the original from Bones 1 are great, but they are tiny compared to other stuff these days!
  • An Orc Wizard in the style of the Tre Manor Black Orcs...most of the other "horde" types have a caster sculpt in Bones by now.  I have plenty that would work, but I'm a big fan of continuing themes.
  • I'd been wanting one in Bones for so long, I hate saying Cyclops again, but we could use a second sculpt!  Not that I don't like the first, but as I mentioned before, the "clone" issue for a monster that can appear in groups
  • Kabaka Kawana, Ape Lord http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/Dark Heaven Legends/price/03052
  • More non-Human Undead.  Especially a Zombie Ogre that's a bit more feral looking than the one from Bones 2.
  • Zombie T-Rex!

Why would you think that Sophie doesn't have two mommies? I mean, I don't know what her family situation is like. Heck, maybe she was born in a demonic commune.

NTTAWWT.

...

Wait.

:B):

Sophie is a succubi. The theory that she is the offspring of some combo of a polyamorous group of pansexual demons seems appropriate. Succubi are rather lusty beings after all.

But more already in family from previous Bones? Good good! Shame I missed other KS rounds on hiatus!

I'm reasonably sure that the "Sophie's Mom" appellation was a fan idea, and is not canon.

Sophie doesn't ask much about her family, and says going back home is "hellish, literally".

Great quote.

That lends more credence to the Rulers of Hell though, doesn't it? ::D:

Hey, parents can be annoying sometimes. If Sophie had to deal with three moms, two dads, and some crazy aunts, uncles, and grandparent demons? That would be extra hellish! :B):

plus the literal lake of fire. I mean, sure, she can brag that her parents had a lakehouse...

Learning to swim was no picnic. Water wings melt, and real wings, turns out, not so useful at the swimming.

The upside was that she could be sure of no assaults from the neighbors on that side, and so her swingset was positioned to get her a real good leap if she could catch some air and land her right in the water. Plus actual tortured souls in the moats of her sandcastles.

so they don't just get two little baby versions of that angry 1 eyed smiley face with horns monster to bite on to her arms as water wings?

Oops, sorry!  While I knew that, I should have made it clearer in my statements.

And I can only image Thanksgiving being a nightmare, since inevitably the turkey is always burnt to a crisp; as there's no temperature gauge on Hell's ovens...

The crispy skin is the best part though!

The Stygian Barge is going to be really time consuming for sure, but I'm thinking that painting @TaleSpinner's awesome Mystic Portal may prove the hardest to really do it justice. (I didn't get a chance to say so during the KS because I was murdering myself trying to get Ma'al Drakar painted, but I meant to tell you, Andy, how fantastic your portal is - I knew I was getting that expansion the second I saw it!)

Thanks Guindy, that means a lot to me. ::D:

Dire platypus. Other than that, more buildings/terrain stuff. Generic superhero figures would be nice.

I'm still a bit unclear on how to make a platypus "Dire", short of giving it a fedora.
