I'm liking the duelist a lot!

I'm thinking about the DVDs but probably won't end up getting them.  I am really into Vince Venturella's tutorials right now and I can just watch those on YouTube.  I do like Jessica Rich a lot too...hmmm... only time will tell I guess.

I like the two townsmen a lot. And the duelist is truely dashing!

I was already eyeballing the DVDs at the last DSM kickstarter, but couldn't afford them back then. Maybe I'll have something left in the war chest if all is said and done with this PM.

I believe the DVDs are the same from the Bones 3 kickstarter.

Agreed. The initial view of the duelist didn't look that great, not until I looked at her video.

Hooray, an update with genuine goodies! Looks like the same Darksword DVDs as in Bones 3, and I already got them all. Good opportunity for those who didn't.

Here are my nagging points:

  • Maybe it's just me, but seeing Baba Yaga squat like that on the rim makes me think she's riding a chamber pot. And is missing one shoe! [The other in possession of Buglips?]
  • The duellist is beautiful, but her feet seem unusually small.

Speaking of shoes, I love everything about the duelist except her footwear. A sword fighter in high heels is pretty awful. Her armor, clothes, head, hair and weapons are all gorgeous. Those heels though... *cry*

Nobles used to wear heels, though, to keep themselves above the filth.  So it's kindof period accurate, even though I wouldn't wear them.

I thought raised heels were developed for securing horse riders in their stirrups? I know there were chopine shoes that raised the whole foot above the filth, but those were very distinct from high heels. I'm not trying to criticize the sculpt. She has one of the nicest armor designs I've seen in a long time. Just giving feedback on the one thing that I feel makes the figure less useful than it could be for my specific purposes (a PC or NPC fighter). If she is meant to be a noble in decorative of ceremonial armor then the shoes are completely fine. She just couldn't fight or ride a horse in those. There's nothing wrong with a beautifully dressed noble that isn't fit to fight.

You might say she is of singular footwear.

Well spotted.

I like the townsfolk, they look like they'll be fun to paint up! Same thing with the lady duelist.

Well her clothes are pretty fancy, so, uh...  <shrug>  The heels are wrong for horseback riding, wedge heels don't work like cowboy boots/riding boots do.   Everyone has their own peeve, heels are not as noticeable as acres of exposed flesh so it doesn't bother me.

I'm actually liking the Sophie and Friends so much that I sort of just want them in metal, so hopefully they'll be released that way too.

I agree. Again, as far as armor goes, the duelist is glorious. I only wish she was a suitable PC fighter mini because I like the design so much. She reminds me of the Flower Knight from Kingdom Death. Worth getting her in metal for display.

 No, I just found it amusing that Baba Yaga is also a stylish lady when it comes to footwear.

After hearing one of the sculptors talking about Argent at Reapercon, I'm looking forward to seeing the final sculpt when it's finished! Apparently, the tiny scales shown in the "In Progress" picture that was put up during the Kickstarter were basically just there to indicate "there will be scales on the final version," and that Argent's sculptor got rid of those 'placeholders' before continuing to work on him. ^_^

This is the 22nd project my wife and I have worked side by side together on. Posted tbis on Facebook but first time adding our project to the forums. I hope you like our Interpretation of the KS  Mammoth not sure if the is a SKU for it. C&C more than welcome. Felt with it being a mammoth a more wintery theme should be more in keeping. Enjoy. Stay safe in these troubled times.

I know there are a few folks that do Bolt Action and similar 28mm wargaming (@buglips), so I thought I'd bounce this out there.

      https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tftb/world-war-ii-soviet-railroad?ref=discovery_recommendations

      Story
Railroads are an important means to transport troops, equipment, ammunition and all other kinds of supply to the front. Especially in a country as vast as the Soviet Union with it's endless steppes, only few reliable roads and no major rivers running in the direction of the German advance during Operation Barbarossa in World War II.
With this set of detailed buildings and rolling stock in 1/56 scale for 28mm figures you get the opportunity to recreate the crucial fighting around the Soviet railroad system.
The kits focus on the major pieces of rolling stock available to the Soviet defenders: box cars, gondola cars and flat cars. And the mighty ALCo RSD-1 Diesel Engine which was made available under the US Lend-Lease Act.
Also included is a typical rural train station with optional additional platforms for all who want to depict a Soviet - or captured German - supply depot, where heavy equipment like tanks and guns are being unloaded.
And for all of you looking for an armored train - don't worry! We have you covered.
        Talking about railroad tracks:
We did not see the need to reinvent the wheel, so all kits are designed to be used with
4Ground Railroad Tracks (available as add-ons to the Kickstarter) or O Gauge Model Railroad Tracks The kits include optional parts enabling you to choose your favorite system while assembling. Going this route has allowed us to concentrate on designing and producing the rolling stock only, which has the advantage of an earlier fulfillment date for the Kickstarter.
All models are highly detailed on the outside and inside. The interiors are easily accessible, as roofs are removable. In addition, all doors are moveable, which means you can open or close them during gameplay.

A Viking Girl sculpted by Bobby Jackson. She was a lot of fun to paint since she had a lot of canvas for freehand work. She is also my first serious effort at NMM, so that's a well I plan to return to.

I came to paint her when I asked my friends which model needed to get some love next. I presented a wizard, a ranger, and an armored lady fighter. One chimes in that she'd like to see the fighter (she being a practitioner of HEMA). Her boyfriend mentions something about boob armor. I said, no, she's got pretty normal armor. You want to see something egregious? THIS is egregious. My HEMA friend immediately says, "I'd like to change my vote." So here we are.

Here's the WIP thread for her. Here's my next piece.

This has sod all to do with miniatures, but I would be surprised if there were not people who might want one of these pins, for literally any reason at all.
I'll let the campaign speak for itself, as I usually do; it is pins. There are, as the title implies, representations for most of the common faiths, in a literal rainbow of ... well, Pride rainbows.

"You take your game seriously. Now it's time for a serious screen.
In October of 2018, Dog Might released the first fully sculpted GM Screen, the Valhalla Screen. Since then, we have released over 30 more designs, including officially licensed screens for: Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu, and Vampire: The Masquerade. We have also designed screens for you favorite shows, such as Relics and Rarities and the Critical Role stream of Undeadwood. Over the last year and a half, our Valhalla Screens have proven to be our most sought after product. "

... Would it surprise anybody here to know I want one?
If I can't have one, at least I can spread the word. ;p
