As my first post in this thread, since I tend to largely ignore Bones kickstarters once they have my money, I'll pitch in my two cents on the frost giants.

 

Not really a fan. Especially not on the one with a helm. That one just looks weird. The other one is kind of an "eh, I guess" but the one with the helm just doesn't look right to me at all.

 

I think they would have been just fine without the obvious boobs.

Still in doubt about the King Cobra, on the one hand I love reptilian minis ( hence my Lost world Project) on the other hand do I need another gigantic snake?

Also, somehow I dislike the scales on this one.

I will have to think about it yet.

The giantess without the helmet but With caribou looks OK to me. Whether or not she needs to lose a cup size is just a minor detail.

 

The helmeted one needs to lose the bird on the helmet. It just looks wrong.

Also, I assume that she's only wearing partial armor, to protect the soft belly, and that her breasts are covered by fabric or soft leather. (stuffed in under the edge of the top of her belly armor)

But even With those assumptions it still looks... not right.

 

There was an 'in Comic discussion' about 'figure shaped' armor in the 'By The Book' Comic recently,

Argent seems like the better gaming bet, if you think you might need a tremendahugely ginormtic dragon. On the other hand, "Dance of Death" would be a truly beautiful display piece.

 

Which is to say, I guess I get your conundrum.

 

ETA: Of course, now it occurs to me that the two dragons from "Dance of Death" can almost certainly be easily removed from the display piece, and mounted separately. It's like 3 items for once price. (dragon 1, dragon 2, terrain piece.)

I pledged for the concept art of the frost giant raider and I'm also really disappointed about the sculpt with the obvious big boobs.

 

That's not the first time it happens on a Bones Kickstarter, is there any official statement from Reaper staff about this issue?

I think I assumed the Frost Giants were still a WIP because we didn't get 360 degree videos of them that Reaper tends to do for most of the other ones they've shown in updates.

 

I agree the bird helmet looks a little off, maybe if the wings wrapped around with the helmet instead of sticking straight out?

The bird on the helmet was on the concept art; that part stayed pretty true.

i'm really hoping the wolf is WIP, to be honest

 

i loved its menacing prowl posture, but it's gone to a very static 'snarl' pose that doens't look at dynamic or interested =(

i'm not saying any of this to be rude to Jason Wiebe, i'm merely trying to voice my disappointment over the changes from the concept art

Still no response to the disappointment some of us had about the giant's surprise armor to cleavage ratio change, or the wolf's head position. Not in the updates, the kickstarter comments, or the forums.（ب_ب）

 

I like the devil ruler, although her wings look a bit big. Very intimidating though. The stance has her looking down, which is excellent, and she's way bigger than I expected. Very tempted to add that set. Thinking each one might cost about $18 or so at retail. They'll look powerful standing next to the Bones 2 devils.

I'm not super thrilled about the addition of boob windows to the frost giantesses either, honestly.

I liked them better without the cleavage. They looked fierce, they looked deadly - danger on feet that just happened to be female - and they did not need gratuitous cleavage.

If there is still a chance to have that altered, add my voice to the ones asking that they be sculpted a little closer to the concept art.

 

I do like the demoness. I like her a lot. She's terrifying, and on her, the cleavage works and is appropriate. ^^;
