Another question for the people who have done this before: are the miniatures in baggies? Are these reusable? Or should I invest in a large amount of ziploc baggies?

Previously it was baggies inside of larger baggies. They are not really reusable as you have to cut them open... I am not sure if 4 will be the same, but in 1-3 once opened I had to find other storage immediately.

Best bet will be to not actually open every bag so you don't lose pieces as more unassembled models this go around.  Error check in sealed baggies if possible

I've invested in a pair of Sterilite 28qt tubs. Part #1655.  Available at grocery, hardware, and craft stores. They hold a lot, but are still easy to carry and stack, and the length is about the same as a standard closet depth making them easy to hide away. They also fit under beds and some other furniture.

They come in standard sealed plastic bags.  Not re-closeable.  Probably need to buy assorted zip-locks if that's how you want to sort them out.

Every day closer to Bones arriving I get more anxious about how little space I will have to store it.

To be fair I have accepted that I'll need to be putting my pokemon card folders into storage (I gave up collecting a few years ago, basically at the same time I became interested in D&D- but I dont have it in me to sell the cards or anything, so storage boxes it is!) This will free up a few shelves on my bookcases, and I'm less worries about my unpainted minis storage as I'll probably leave them in their original packaging until I paint them; it's painted model storage that's starting to become a bit of a challenge for me...

And how many figures did those baggies hold? E. g. was the whole core set in one, or was it separated by themes similar to the individual core set add ons one could buy?

But yes, seems like I need to get a bunch of ziploc bags, not opening at least half of the Bones bags seems impossible. There will be at least 3 people in attendance for the unboxing, and all are very excited

Now I just need to convince my dad of lending me his labeling machine.

I've never received a core set before, so I'm not sure about that, but all the other things I've received have been individually bagged.

things are different this time.

Core set will be in bags according to their add-on groupings as shown in the unboxing video we did on Reaper Live several weeks ago.  multi-piece models are in individual bags within those larger grouping bags.

I kept my Bones 3 sorted in their original bags, using chip clips to seal them up when they were diminished enough that I could. It wasn't much of a problem for me. I did somehow lose track of my translucent plastic fairy and possibly the scorpions that came in the Core, but I'm not that bothered about either. Otherwise, it's been pretty simple to just keep them in the bags. That said, I'll probably shift to gallon ziplocks this time around.

Are you referring to the DETOLF? I personally went the BILLY approach, but the DETOLF could be good with some modifications to add more shelves (which there are guides for online). Not sure I'd use them as-is for standard minis.

Yeah, the DETOLF has too much open space to be an adequate display piece for regular miniatures. I have one, currently holding my Dragons Don't Share, my gargantuan Chromatic dragons, the really large Cthulhu Wars minis, and some other dragons. Basically, it's a dragon and enormous monster display, and I love it for that, but I'd need more of them than I have room to display all the regular sized miniatures.

I store my bones minis in those little small parts storage containers like you find at harbor freight, works great for anything under giant-sized.  Also I saw someone use a 3-tier cupcake stand for displaying minis in a DETOLF (or similar cabinet) I thought that was brilliant. Will be investing in a couple of those before bones 4 hits. Though I actually have the IKEA FABRIKOR cabinet.

Dang!  A little sad that these might not get here till closer to April but I know it was out of Reaper's hands and they were trying super hard to hit that delivery date.  They got pretty close and from what I understand this will probably be the closest they have gotten to on time delivery.  I also get the feeling that they are probably more disappointed than a lot of backers.

It is not their fault that I am so impatient!  I am glad that we have more of a solid idea now of when shipping will commence.

Thanks Reaper for keeping us up to date!  We almost made it without any delays and I don't think a month delay for a KS is a big deal at all!

Edit:  I just hope the backers in the KS comments handle the news ok!

Yeah, a month in Kickstarter time is the blink of an eye for delays.  ;)  I've got one that's coming up on being a year late, and another that's pushing 4+ months.
