The duelling dragons are actually one of the few AddOns I didn't pledge for.

I have so many dragons yet to buy and paint, and the two of them are just not as usable for use in game.

quite agreed, but almost any dragon bigger than a elephant isn't used in my husband's games. Dragons are high priority simply because they're my absolute favorite to paint

Well, you're in the dragon painting game a bit longer, I still have the dragons from Bones I, II und III to paint ^^ But I do like to use them in game as well. Maybe you guys are just smarter than my players, and don't senselessly attack bigger-than-an-elephant dragons.

I was kinda on the edge with the two dragons fighting, since it is such a lovely figure. But in the end, it's good to have one big thing that I didn't buy, to defend against the claims that I got everything.

Okay, new question time!

What mini are you getting that is at the bottom of your "to paint" list?

For me it's the chibis.

Probably the chibis for me as well. I was really into painting them for a while, then I got badly burned by a chibi related kickstarter that shall remain nameless. I haven't painted any since

Is it wrong that I was trying to identify all the rocks? ::P:

I'm actually looking forward to the adventurer chibis. They're different, at least to me.  I think the core set will get a "meh" and be dumped in a box first.  I'm not even sure I got a Core. It might be all add-ons.

I was feeling the same way, until my wife said "Just get it and paint it for me to display upstairs."   Now how was I supposed to argue with that? ::D:

I cannot see that deep into the abyss.

That's just the pregnancy bump in the way.

Probably the Thrasher Snail (Fan Favorites) or "dino dudes" (Lost Valley).   I just honestly can't envision ever using them in a game.  There were a lot of minis that came with a set that don't inspire me to put a brush to them.  Fan Favorites was a tough choice on whether or not to add it on, but the numbers finally broke into the "purchase" category.

I feel I need to clarify that all are fine minis from a sculpting standpoint, but not every mini will click with everyone.

True.

But you do have a "better class of rocks" than the average run of the mill quarry stone or well rounded rock found at the bottom of a stream-bed.

GEM

Generally, yes. I have been known to pick up a pretty pebble from a stream, from time to time, however. Many of the ones by Kally aren't from stream-beds, but many folks would look at and grunt. I think they are interesting.

Yes and no. Some of these are pretty obvious (notably, the orbicular granite). Others... shame shame! Sight-IDing is a good way to make wrong guesses! Gem ID class got nasty on that. Better to ID uncut stuff ::P:

The most prominent in the pictures are the orbicular granite, citrine geode, smokey quartz geode, picasso marble carvings, celestite geode, gray fluorite with (probably) chalcopyrite and calcite, sphalerite with galena on druzy quartz, and fossilized coral. On the edge of the granite is Mortimer, an ammonite. Mort - cuz he's dead. The minis on the lower ledge mostly sit on or near a slice of fossilized wood.

Last on my to-paint list....

Uhh....

I think some of the assorted humanoids and similar size monsters. I'm more likely to just fling those around or give to friends. The chibis aren't my favorite, but they can be an excuse to practice something different.

Psst! The Dueling Dragons makes a good shared anniversary present - you paint one, your hubby paints one...*

The chibi miniatures would be on my low list... except one of those figures will probably be going to a ten year old girl. (Who will be exactly eleven at the time.)

The Auld Grump

* We weren't the only local couple to leap to that conclusion - Jon and Julie are hiring me to paint their dragons for their anniversary.... I think the consensus is that they aren't fighting - but nobody is brave enough to pull out the garden hose on two dragons.
