Gotta be honest, Gauth is one of my least favorite dragon sculpts. I'm not really into the looming Godzilla type dragon. Nothing wrong with him. Just... less my type. He may end up on a tabletop, or Sir Cyr will paint him. I like the midsize and just-over-human-size stuff from the core set more. I haven't even considered what color Gauth should be. If I did paint him, maybe gaunt colors. Gaunt Gauth. Hah.

I always have ideas for dioramas that never really get made so not sure this will happen but I am considering painting Gauth as a large statue standing behind a throne with a dragon queen/king.

My Gauth is most likely going to end up a ice dragon

I like this!  Maybe I could do an ice dragon king/queen throne room and have the Gauth statue with icicles hanging from his wings, hands, and snout.

I think Dreadmere als hugely profits from it. I was on the fence with that one. The meat of that expansion are very detailed, flavorful humans. A lot of them would probably have been not so great in the normal Bones material, but with the Bones Black you probably don't even have to paint them to see all their stuff.

If I'd known at the time that Dreadmere was going to be in a new and improved material I might have got a second one, but it was less appealing in original Bones.

It does feel strange to not have pledged for a core set, although we did get some of the core add-ons.  Still not regretting it.

Today is the day! Updaaaaaaaaaaaaaate! :D

I can't wait to get these... I ordered essentially everything, and am now DMing one of my two Pathfinder games... every session I prepare for I find myself thinking "That (whatever) from bones 4 would be perfect for this!"

I'm right there with you on Gauth. I'll probably paint him up and then put him up for sale somewhere to recoup some of the cost of the set, but I'm not a fan of him. His pose lead to my pet name for him as the "vomiting dragon." He just doesn't do it for me at all. But I'm looking forward to much of the rest of the Core, so I was happy to get the entire Core set.

I'm hoping that Bones 5 is a ways away, though. I need time to recoup some expenses before I can go hog wild into another big KS like that...

I agree with both of you which is why I am considering painting him as a statue.  If I don't do the statue thing he will at least be good practice with the airbrush for the dragons that I do like!

BTW did anyone see the Storm Giant  from the Reaper Live last night?!  Oh my...

Well, the good thing about Bones, is the pledge manager is open for a while. So you would have almost a year after to add to your pledge. My Bones 4 initial pledge was like $300? But went to just shy of $1000... I could not do that all at once...

My initial pledge was maybe about $200 - 300, and wound up just around $500-ish (?). I figure we're a little ways away considering Reapercon last year didn't announce anything, but I'm not banking on it. I'm hoping for the Fall at the earliest, though. Preferably next year.
