From Facebook posted by Reapers Matt Clark:

We will be getting the UK and AU shipments ready to go overseas in shipping containers.  Then we will reset for Canada.  Then we will start on domestic.  We probably won't get to shipping again until sometime next week.

Well that's disappointing!  But I guess it is stuff that needs to be done.

Don't they know that this is by far the hardest part of a KS (at least for backers) and any delay is just dangling a carrot in front of us?!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's right.

As to the container, allow me to speculate: I am running a company, we'll call it Shambling Mound Miniatures (just so that we're clear, this is in no way based on any knowledge of the internals of this project). The last shipment necessary to fulfill a very large set of orders is running late enough that between reshipment to local fulfillment houses and then final shipment to customers this could result in shipments leaving after a hard Brexit. I speculate that between VAT/customs issues and possibly increased shipment costs, this could run up my fulfillment costs very significantly.

I might (remember that I'm talking about Shambling Mound Miniatures here) decide to pay for air shipment of all or part of that last container to have a chance of getting the product out to my customers before prices go through the roof. I say "or part" because I might need only a small part of that last container for the most time-sensitive orders and air shipment is expensive. The hope, then, would be that the remainder of the final container would arrive at my shipment facility timely enough for domestic customers.

Note: That whole scenario depends a great deal on the balance between non-UK European orders (UK orders would presumably not be affected and non-EU orders likewise) and everything else that isn't quite as time sensitive. I have no idea what circumstances Reaper is facing; this is purely speculation about what Shambling Mound might do in an analogous situation. Though if the tracker shows nothing but orders shipping from the UK hub, followed by only orders shipping from the Oz hub, that might be interesting to see. FWIW, I've only seen European orders so far.

Finally, I'll note that if Reaper were to decide to take this sort of action, I would completely understand. They could be facing a significant unplanned expense that could be removed by extraordinary measures. But again, I'm just speculating about what I might do with my miniatures company if I were in the above described situation.

Remember how I said that packages would be brought to the post office and I would have a note on the door, or a disgruntled courier would bring them back to their hub?

Another option just happened.

My Bear's Head beerholder beholder and minotaur just arrived and were left at the door to my apartment. Small inconspicuous box, but yeah. This is a new one.

No idea what will happen with Big Box!

If it's CanadaPost... And you're in an apartment building, or such...  Call CanadaPost and put in a complaint about a package being safe dropped in an apartment.

... Doubly so if the package was marked "do not safe drop" or "signature required".

They aren't supposed to leave boxes in the hallway in apartment buildings.

I don't think it was CanadaPost. The box has a stamp "By Air Mail par avion Royal Mail". Originated in the UK; likely went to a courier. Not sure by any stretch. The package was not marked as fragile or needing a signature.

Royal Mail is delivered by Canada Post :)

They're also the only ones who have keys to get into buildings, everyone else has to buzz for entry.

That sounds about right, considering that they'll start on Canada tomorrow. Even if Reaper does fulfillment during the weekend, shippers will most likely not take it until Monday rolls around. United States fulfillment is probably an easier process once they start on Monday.

Hmmm... I read that comment from Matt very differently.  I read it as tomorrow and Saturday will be getting EU and AU palleted and into shipping containers and set up for Canadian shipping.  Then maybe even a couple days next week finishing EU/AU with Canadian shipping beginning once thats done. The whole "we probably won't begin shipping again until sometime next week" I think would include packing and shipping Canadian orders so I think we are in a bit of a holding pattern.

I'm a pessimist but from that comment and with Canadian shipping not starting till "sometime next week" I am guessing US orders won't start until after the 1st.  I hope I am wrong though.

Well, I guess we'll find out whether Canada starts tomorrow or not in 10.5 hrs.

If Canada starts tomorrow, can there be a Canada Day version 2? Mostly because I want the local cinnamon bun cafe to do their Canada Day special again - maple frosting and drench the bun in maple syrup.

I know there are a few folks that do Bolt Action and similar 28mm wargaming (@buglips), so I thought I'd bounce this out there.

      https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tftb/world-war-ii-soviet-railroad?ref=discovery_recommendations

      Story
Railroads are an important means to transport troops, equipment, ammunition and all other kinds of supply to the front. Especially in a country as vast as the Soviet Union with it's endless steppes, only few reliable roads and no major rivers running in the direction of the German advance during Operation Barbarossa in World War II.
With this set of detailed buildings and rolling stock in 1/56 scale for 28mm figures you get the opportunity to recreate the crucial fighting around the Soviet railroad system.
The kits focus on the major pieces of rolling stock available to the Soviet defenders: box cars, gondola cars and flat cars. And the mighty ALCo RSD-1 Diesel Engine which was made available under the US Lend-Lease Act.
Also included is a typical rural train station with optional additional platforms for all who want to depict a Soviet - or captured German - supply depot, where heavy equipment like tanks and guns are being unloaded.
And for all of you looking for an armored train - don't worry! We have you covered.
        Talking about railroad tracks:
We did not see the need to reinvent the wheel, so all kits are designed to be used with
4Ground Railroad Tracks (available as add-ons to the Kickstarter) or O Gauge Model Railroad Tracks The kits include optional parts enabling you to choose your favorite system while assembling. Going this route has allowed us to concentrate on designing and producing the rolling stock only, which has the advantage of an earlier fulfillment date for the Kickstarter.
All models are highly detailed on the outside and inside. The interiors are easily accessible, as roofs are removable. In addition, all doors are moveable, which means you can open or close them during gameplay.

A Viking Girl sculpted by Bobby Jackson. She was a lot of fun to paint since she had a lot of canvas for freehand work. She is also my first serious effort at NMM, so that's a well I plan to return to.

I came to paint her when I asked my friends which model needed to get some love next. I presented a wizard, a ranger, and an armored lady fighter. One chimes in that she'd like to see the fighter (she being a practitioner of HEMA). Her boyfriend mentions something about boob armor. I said, no, she's got pretty normal armor. You want to see something egregious? THIS is egregious. My HEMA friend immediately says, "I'd like to change my vote." So here we are.

Here's the WIP thread for her. Here's my next piece.

This has sod all to do with miniatures, but I would be surprised if there were not people who might want one of these pins, for literally any reason at all.
I'll let the campaign speak for itself, as I usually do; it is pins. There are, as the title implies, representations for most of the common faiths, in a literal rainbow of ... well, Pride rainbows.

In October of 2018, Dog Might released the first fully sculpted GM Screen, the Valhalla Screen. Since then, we have released over 30 more designs, including officially licensed screens for: Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu, and Vampire: The Masquerade. We have also designed screens for you favorite shows, such as Relics and Rarities and the Critical Role stream of Undeadwood. Over the last year and a half, our Valhalla Screens have proven to be our most sought after product. "

... Would it surprise anybody here to know I want one?
If I can't have one, at least I can spread the word. ;p
