Same. W14 with the hut, so you're not alone here at the back of the line.

I've got a 10 day trip to Tokyo coming up in early June, so I'm hoping my box arrives at least a couple days before I leave so I can look stuff over and start sorting. Or the day of, just so I know it's here waiting for my return...

Hubs SWEARS the minute I get my hands on it, that I'm going to dump it all out on the bed, spend hours upon hours looking and drooling, and that he'll come to find me "swimming through the stuff like Scrooge McDuck and his gold". WELL, he's wrong because I only got the core, dreadmere, darkreach, the hut & some extra villagers!

Yay, the first person here I've seen that bought less than me. You're still getting a pretty big number of minis though.

I would buy that in Bones...seriously.

Also, this seems like a valid theme for the Bones V Kickstarter...err maybe it should be Bones F5?

If anyone was looking for an unboxing video here's a link to the only one I've seen so far. Good stuff.

Why, when I watch this video, does the voice of the soreball from Wreck it Ralph pop in my head???

Announcer in video: "All Hail, the Reaper 4 Bones Core Set"

You innocently ask....knowing I'm not going to be able to NOT compare them......:poke:

bulldog_vs_dictator.thumb.jpg.e6b2581a259a6ff2692a618832101c5a.jpg

Looks pretty awesome to me!!

But not sure how big the PAs are supposed to be in CAV.....

It's close enough for a few ideas I have in my head...  Well, ideas that MIGHT happen.  I say it that way because if I start painting the Dictator and those aren't available at retail yet...  Oh well, such is life :P

Also, that is some weiiiird camera distortion going on there, making it look like one weapon is shorter than the other....

Just angles, since the whole thing is held together with blutac....actually the right (pilot's right) is currently longer; the socket needs some excess resin cleaned out for the plug to go all the way in.

Good video, but he called the monster set wyvern a dragon, and he called Gauth a Wyvern... and then questioned why Gauth had arms when he is a wyvern...

But, I am wondering now how easy it will be to mix and match arms and heads on the man-sized bodies. Ivy Green witch... I didn't like her hat in the metal version, but the bones version has the arm and hat as a separate piece... It will be fun mixing and matching.

I thought about posting a comment about the two wyvern/dragon mix-ups, but I figured most people watching would already know. I was too excited to see his video to comment. Definitely threw him a thumb up though. :winkthumbs:

Wow, you found another benefit to delivering the minis on sprues. That was the highlight of the video for me. Super glad so many figures shipped as multipart.

I decided now is the time to get more grass tufts. So I got 6 packs of Gamers Grass, maybe the best pre-made tufts I have ever seen. But now I see this other company has made scorched (dark brown) and burned (black) static grass....My only true issue is use tufts or static grass...... [My way of coping with waiting for the US shipping....]

Also it is interesting how the bases for Bones 4 turned out. Going to be a quick debate of  if I will keep them or base them. Luckily I got 6 different Vallejo texture pastes. ($11-$15 each for 200 ml, GW would take 16.7 bottles and $76). I also noticed any bases with  little groves in them require so little of the paste compared to smooth bases. Just take a small art spatula and spread it over in pretty much one stroke. Dry for 40 min or so and you can paint, also can be used as a bonding agent. Put it on a small wooden dowel or wire and you can make trees or branches easily. And I did get some resin for water effects....so I guess I'm making lots of swamps....

Actually if anyone wants I could make a quick guide on how to make trees using the material. Great for bases or dioramas. Super easy. Though I'm unsure what Bones 4 could benefit from trees...

Glad I'm not the only one who has to clean that out ^_^

Sure fits the boxy kinda theme though, so hopefully scale is "close enough" ^_^;;;

I'm really happy with what I'm seeing in the core set unboxing.

Core set is supposed to not be Bones Black, but even just the smaller changes they apparently made (like the color) make them look really nice. And it's not as much mold line stuff I eventually give up on, as it wouldn't be a speed painting project anymore if I were to remove it all.

Will be doing some painting of the Bones orcs later that day if my back allows, and deal with the wait that way.

I know there are a few folks that do Bolt Action and similar 28mm wargaming (@buglips), so I thought I'd bounce this out there.

      https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tftb/world-war-ii-soviet-railroad?ref=discovery_recommendations

      Story
Railroads are an important means to transport troops, equipment, ammunition and all other kinds of supply to the front. Especially in a country as vast as the Soviet Union with it's endless steppes, only few reliable roads and no major rivers running in the direction of the German advance during Operation Barbarossa in World War II.
With this set of detailed buildings and rolling stock in 1/56 scale for 28mm figures you get the opportunity to recreate the crucial fighting around the Soviet railroad system.
The kits focus on the major pieces of rolling stock available to the Soviet defenders: box cars, gondola cars and flat cars. And the mighty ALCo RSD-1 Diesel Engine which was made available under the US Lend-Lease Act.
Also included is a typical rural train station with optional additional platforms for all who want to depict a Soviet - or captured German - supply depot, where heavy equipment like tanks and guns are being unloaded.
And for all of you looking for an armored train - don't worry! We have you covered.
        Talking about railroad tracks:
We did not see the need to reinvent the wheel, so all kits are designed to be used with
4Ground Railroad Tracks (available as add-ons to the Kickstarter) or O Gauge Model Railroad Tracks The kits include optional parts enabling you to choose your favorite system while assembling. Going this route has allowed us to concentrate on designing and producing the rolling stock only, which has the advantage of an earlier fulfillment date for the Kickstarter.
All models are highly detailed on the outside and inside. The interiors are easily accessible, as roofs are removable. In addition, all doors are moveable, which means you can open or close them during gameplay.

A Viking Girl sculpted by Bobby Jackson. She was a lot of fun to paint since she had a lot of canvas for freehand work. She is also my first serious effort at NMM, so that's a well I plan to return to.

I came to paint her when I asked my friends which model needed to get some love next. I presented a wizard, a ranger, and an armored lady fighter. One chimes in that she'd like to see the fighter (she being a practitioner of HEMA). Her boyfriend mentions something about boob armor. I said, no, she's got pretty normal armor. You want to see something egregious? THIS is egregious. My HEMA friend immediately says, "I'd like to change my vote." So here we are.

Here's the WIP thread for her. Here's my next piece.

This has sod all to do with miniatures, but I would be surprised if there were not people who might want one of these pins, for literally any reason at all.
I'll let the campaign speak for itself, as I usually do; it is pins. There are, as the title implies, representations for most of the common faiths, in a literal rainbow of ... well, Pride rainbows.

In October of 2018, Dog Might released the first fully sculpted GM Screen, the Valhalla Screen. Since then, we have released over 30 more designs, including officially licensed screens for: Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu, and Vampire: The Masquerade. We have also designed screens for you favorite shows, such as Relics and Rarities and the Critical Role stream of Undeadwood. Over the last year and a half, our Valhalla Screens have proven to be our most sought after product. "

... Would it surprise anybody here to know I want one?
If I can't have one, at least I can spread the word. ;p
