I have no idea if you're wrong.  I just can very well image the situation where the forums go "Yey, Froghemoth!" and 80% of casual game store customers are like "what the heck is this thing? Nvm, I need a bunch of Orcs/Goblins/a dragon for my campaign."

I'm just waiting for somebody to stick a set of wings on a Froghemoth and go all Cthulu-esque Elder Gods Dragon with it. It's only a matter of time.

 

Me, I'm still squeeing about bitty DRAGON! and looking forward to kobolds and Chronoscope. This will be the first time in four KS' that we've deliberately picked up a sci-fi expansion. ^^;

Hopefully, many people who had never even heard of a froghemoth prior to Bones 3 realized that they did in fact actually need one the moment they saw the reveal.

Given that a froghemoth is actually a D&D monster, I'm not actually surprised that some people liked it.  (Seriously, it's got a Wikipedia entry.)  

 

I'm still waiting for that dragon turtle.  But the cute dragon was a surprise that made me very happy.

You are seeing a Master Copy, not a production copy, produced in a dark resin. This is the proof of concept copy, a sister copy from the same resin cast, but unassembled, will be sent to China to have molds made.

 

If he manages to stay that size through the production process, then he'll be perfect for F20 games.  I was planning on grabbing Narglauth either way, but he looked like he might be hard to squeeze onto a 3" base from the KS page.

 

Also, he manages to somehow look even cooler in the flesh (so to speak)!

Seeing him, "in the flesh" as it were has actually managed to turn me from wanting to pass on it to actually wanting it.

I really like the Chronoscope minis, but since I already own almost all of the existing ones in metal already, I think I will skip it.

I would SO do this if I had the talent. Alas, I am still conversion-free so would be a while til I did this. Though I did just introduce the Elder Gods to my players in my current campaign . . .

Buglips figure - been pushing for this since KS the Second from memory, would still be very keen to see Buglips, Goblin "King" in the Bones range.

 

Especially if his weapon is a brush : )

Handily enough, Bones are super-easy to convert. And you know how helpful we are already ^^;
