The only pleasant ridge is no ridge at all.

To keep things on topic, if anyone has the Bones 4 Zombie Dragon and Ebonwrath, could I see them side by side? I'm wondering if my plan will work or if I'll need to scrap it...

I live in Woodinville.  You'd think that it's named for all the tall trees everywhere, but no it's named after the Woodin family that helped found the town.  There were so many of them people referred to the area as Woodinville somewhat sarcastically.  We're that kind of town.

And no, I won't be the only Woodinville showing up on the tracker, we're a geek-heavy population and I'm pretty sure that one of our gaming friends went in on Bones 4.

Note: this is technically not a poking stick. It is actually a spider stick. But I don't believe it's time to escalate things that far. Maybe in a couple more days though.

While I understand that social media can work the way @Guindyloo describes, unfortunately, it turns out to be the opposite of this. People from different departments come in, giving incorrect or false information, and you spend more time backpedaling the errors then focusing on what is really out there. That's why companies have one point of contact for just this purpose, so all that information can be disseminated correctly from the weekly meetings and such. The real issue (IMO) was that reaper HAD this point of contact, Bryan and Ladystorm. They kept us on topic and gave us the information we needed to hear (or sometimes not want to hear *cough* cat dragon). That honestly is the part I really question. You knew (for the most part I am assuming), that Bryan was departing, and the same for ladystorm. I am sure they were not sudden events, and you had the Kickstarter nearing the end, would you not have prepared for this contingency? Not a complaint, not a gripe, just my observation.

Mine arrived. Did a live stream at request of some buddies. I can sit in the box. Pros: I am impressed by the detail level. Bones material has come a LONG way. Cons: zombie shark missing lower jaw, and 1/2 of paint set is wrong set. Will know more soon. <back to wallowing>

Any chance you can post the video somewhere?

maybe tomorrow things will start. i'm just going to stop checking the tracker and just occasionally check my email

on the subject of Red Deer, there is the European Red Deer so maybe the town is named after that. Wouldn't be the first time a town is named after a animal from a whole different country, like Monkey Eybrow in Kentucky (seriously...)

Yeah, this is very accurate. I don't get why they seem to have done nothing to really replace ReaperBryan for communication purposes. There seemed to be a period after he left where they had someone who'd had no preparation attempting to deal with the information updates, and then it moved to being managed by someone who was going to be retiring. It just seems like there was no planning or regard for how vital that communication position really was. I'm hoping it was more having trouble finding a qualified applicant, but it's very weird.

I don't check the tracker; I just check this thread. I'll know when it starts moving faster this way, rather than digging through the two dozen open tabs on my phone (don't judge me ) looking for the one with the tracker and wating to refresh it constantly lol.

Huzzah!

I think you're misreading some of what I wrote. I'm suggesting a "dedicated, full-time social media presence," the meaning there being staff of whatever necessary number that is only dedicated to social media. The "People from different departments come in" that you describe is what currently occurs in that different staff members pop onto social media from time to time to put up pictures or make comments. It is my fully unofficial understanding that their company policy is not to give answers to anything without official authorization, thus why you mostly get zero answers or non-answers. I think that you're ascribing actions to certain individuals when I'm talking about overall company decisions. These issues persisted before any prior employees left the company, it just wasn't as obvious because there was more of a presence here on the forum and in the kickstarter comments, but most information that was given was non-answers that at least made some people feel more like someone was listening, but didn't really address the overarching issues that I'm talking about.

I know there are a few folks that do Bolt Action and similar 28mm wargaming (@buglips), so I thought I'd bounce this out there.

      https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tftb/world-war-ii-soviet-railroad?ref=discovery_recommendations

      Story
Railroads are an important means to transport troops, equipment, ammunition and all other kinds of supply to the front. Especially in a country as vast as the Soviet Union with it's endless steppes, only few reliable roads and no major rivers running in the direction of the German advance during Operation Barbarossa in World War II.
With this set of detailed buildings and rolling stock in 1/56 scale for 28mm figures you get the opportunity to recreate the crucial fighting around the Soviet railroad system.
The kits focus on the major pieces of rolling stock available to the Soviet defenders: box cars, gondola cars and flat cars. And the mighty ALCo RSD-1 Diesel Engine which was made available under the US Lend-Lease Act.
Also included is a typical rural train station with optional additional platforms for all who want to depict a Soviet - or captured German - supply depot, where heavy equipment like tanks and guns are being unloaded.
And for all of you looking for an armored train - don't worry! We have you covered.
        Talking about railroad tracks:
We did not see the need to reinvent the wheel, so all kits are designed to be used with
4Ground Railroad Tracks (available as add-ons to the Kickstarter) or O Gauge Model Railroad Tracks The kits include optional parts enabling you to choose your favorite system while assembling. Going this route has allowed us to concentrate on designing and producing the rolling stock only, which has the advantage of an earlier fulfillment date for the Kickstarter.
All models are highly detailed on the outside and inside. The interiors are easily accessible, as roofs are removable. In addition, all doors are moveable, which means you can open or close them during gameplay.

A Viking Girl sculpted by Bobby Jackson. She was a lot of fun to paint since she had a lot of canvas for freehand work. She is also my first serious effort at NMM, so that's a well I plan to return to.

I came to paint her when I asked my friends which model needed to get some love next. I presented a wizard, a ranger, and an armored lady fighter. One chimes in that she'd like to see the fighter (she being a practitioner of HEMA). Her boyfriend mentions something about boob armor. I said, no, she's got pretty normal armor. You want to see something egregious? THIS is egregious. My HEMA friend immediately says, "I'd like to change my vote." So here we are.

Here's the WIP thread for her. Here's my next piece.

This has sod all to do with miniatures, but I would be surprised if there were not people who might want one of these pins, for literally any reason at all.
I'll let the campaign speak for itself, as I usually do; it is pins. There are, as the title implies, representations for most of the common faiths, in a literal rainbow of ... well, Pride rainbows.

"You take your game seriously. Now it's time for a serious screen.
In October of 2018, Dog Might released the first fully sculpted GM Screen, the Valhalla Screen. Since then, we have released over 30 more designs, including officially licensed screens for: Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu, and Vampire: The Masquerade. We have also designed screens for you favorite shows, such as Relics and Rarities and the Critical Role stream of Undeadwood. Over the last year and a half, our Valhalla Screens have proven to be our most sought after product. "

... Would it surprise anybody here to know I want one?
If I can't have one, at least I can spread the word. ;p
