No ill will on all Canadians... Just the ones who have their bones...

You can hate on the rest of those hoser as much as you want, I didn't get anything in Bones IV on account of having too many minis.

...

In retrospect, now I have space for them.  I will join you in hating the other Canadians.

From FB a couple minutes ago:

Matthew ClarkoJUaDQAiBQe.png We are still setting up, including the technology needed. There was no internet connectivity in the building we are using.

and all previous comments regarding the topic were deleted and commenting was turned off.

About what I figured.

Which only brings up more questions, since they said 5 days ago in episode 26 that was already resolved.

IIRC, they said that they had run a cable through a tunnel to the new building, which they expected would solve their connectivity problems. IME, "That should do it. Give 'er a try!" doesn't usually result in success the first time. ::D:

Hey, no ill will upon the Canadians. Else they may send geese full of anger, and hockey players on mooses to war on the southern front!

That's more of a threat now than a couple of years ago. There are actually a few good Canadian hockey teams this year. Not going to win the cup, of course.

But all geese are full of anger (fortunately, it's mostly a bluff). Oh, and the plural of "moose" is "elk".

My wife doesn't know we're getting two new Dragon bookends (argent) with my Bones 4 order.. now to decide if I want them painted identical or different..

Mostly identical, with a small difference between them to provide contrast.

I'm tempted to just pick up some straight-up metallic platinum spray paint for Argent, rather than going the NMM painting route I have for my zombie Silver dragon. Really make him pop if I do that...

Not "short notice." Bryan left almost a year ago. They've had plenty of time.

Ladystorm replaced Bryan.  And yes, they should have had some time to replace her since her retirement was pre-planned.  But sometimes hiring the right person is hard and not hiring anyone is usually better than hiring the wrong person.  At least this is what my husband keeps getting told when they're chronically understaffed in his group.

I do think that it might have been harder than people expect to find an appropriate candidate to be their PR person on short notice while also attempting to fulfill Bones 4.  Because Reaper is small enough that they need most people to be able to wear more than one hat.

Reaper is not small. They haven't been for some time. Any company pulling in millions of dollars in a kickstarter is no longer small. Just because you prefer to keep your staff small does not mean that you're a small business no matter how much you insist that you are. They are one of the largest companies in the business. Much of their communication issues are caused by their insistence on running like a small business even though they have outgrown that business model.

And just to reiterate, the problem is not that there isn't a designated individual to distract everyone from the fact that the engine's smoking. The problem is that the engine's smoking.

I'm not sure of his present position, but he's been with Reaper a good while.

I don't know if I should be pestering them right now, or hold off until they are back in a normal swing of things.  Also would hope that they have a way of *not* doing their usual full replacement for flawed items - I don't need another whole mammoth; I just need a right tusk. Don't need a whole zombie shark; I just need the jaw.

I think that just perpetuates the stereotype that Canadians are the nicest, kindest, friendliest people on the planet. Be like an American .. Demand what's yours! Of course I love both Canada and USA and very happy at least some of us have our Bones4!

You must take the Bones Box Challenge!

Does fitting one or more cats into the box count?

Ceratopsian to the rescue!

20190410_114545.thumb.jpg.2d56919367a5eee2c1036018c139bb4f.jpg

Really!

Also, this is a ceratopsian, but it is NOT a Triceratops (Frill and cheek spikes give it away). Couldn't identify this specific one, so I'm assuming it's a unique ceratopsian made for Reaper.

I believe he is the factory manager, and is probably a part-owner.

OK, I know goblins aren't big on logic but haven't some trouble with that concept. ::P: If you really need a shot of new Bones I might be able to come up with a couple I'm willing to spare. I mean I have about :wow::ik_oops: 20 minis and there's a few I'm not interested in. Seriously it's too bad we can't have a Bones trading option on this forum. I'm reaching the point where it might not be so bad to let a few go.

It is just a generic dinosaur. No specific species matches that look.  Kind of like they tried to fuse a Triceratops and a styracosaurus together

not a fan of its skin texture but I will deal  with it (dinosaurs are scaled, not wrinkled like elephants )

      Andowyn Thrushmoor!
It's been awhile since I've painted a plain ol' character miniature. I spent the better part of today working on her and I’m overall pleased with how she came out. I really want to double my skill level by the time Bones V is delivered and I’m proud of my progress! Slowly but surely figuring out how to do faces, this one looks pretty okay, though her right eye is funky.

Since this is my first form post, the picture is her next to my first miniature! It's about four years old and I keep it around the rest of my collection in a place of honor

If anybody here loves cavern terrain and missed DF's first cavern KS KS2, this spring/summer around June DF will have KS6. The theme of KS6 will be Return to the Caverns and should be great fun for those who took part in KS2 or those who are new to DF.

DF had this to say and showed the below teaser pics

We're doing for Caverns what Dungeon of Doom did for Dungeons. A whole new batch of fun pieces to enhance your existing collection, but also completely stand-alone.

      Some of the key features:
New Core Shapes (diagonal wall, convex curves, 1" pieces, etc)
      Passages
Elevation (with stuff that's impossible on graph paper...)
Negative Space pieces (and new Terrain Trays)
      Flashy Pieces (Magnets & LEDs)
      Large pieces (4x4 and larger)

This looks like a very interesting board game with lots of new, fresh ideas and cool artwork (and nice minis - there is even a pledge level for just the minis: around 15 of them for $20 plus shipping):

      About this project

It's a harsh but lucrative business being a mercenary out on the edge of civilization. You must explore the harsh wilderness and engage in deep tactical combat, where the decisions you make have an impact not only on your own character, but also the world around you.

Gloomhaven is cooperative game of card-driven combat set in a persistent fantasy campaign which will change and grow as you play the game.
There is always more to unlock and explore in the world of Gloomhaven.

If you missed the first Gloomhaven Kickstarter (and retail sold out quickly) here is your chance. I backed that game the first time around and could not be happier with the results. Warning ... that box is heavy ...
