In the Live stream tonight they said it was because the new factory recommended it come assembled because the way they had it jointed, it required heat to put together.  So they said ok.  They've decided that going forward they will need to re-do their joint style so this isnt the case and things dont get assembled.  So you are unlikely to get the roof off or the legs without cutting.

I'd be concerned about the speed/friction of the blade causing (unintended) damage to the figure (granted I've never used a table saw so my concern may be unfounded).

Hm, any damage done would be at the bottom, easy to obscure I guess.

Oh, it'll do a bang up job of cutting bones!  Not so sure if it's the best tool for cutting Bones though.  If I was going to use a power tool for that I'd go for a band saw with a metal cutting blade on it.

My missing barrels shipped yesterday.

So it appears they are fixing issues as they come in.

Reaper usually have an excellent customer service, it's the communication that is lacking, I hope they will find a new and capable spokesperson very soon.

I wouldn't use a power saw of any description on thick PVC unless you can turn the speed way down. Saw blades generate quite a lot of heat, and the melting point of PVC without plasticizer is pretty low. Plasticizer drops that further (though there seems to be significantly less plasticizer in Bones Black.) It's really easy to melt plastic with a saw, and that makes a mess.

 

If you can get through it with a knife, that would probably work best, but these are quite thick, so that could easily result in broken hobby knife blades and really nasty cuts right afterwards. I expect that I'll use a razor saw if the knife doesn't work without too much pressure.

 

And all that's assuming that I can't debond the superglue with acetone and then use differential heating to pull the legs out. (I'm not really expecting that to work, but I plan to try.)

FWIW, a chop saw does a dandy job of cutting cleanly through PVC pipe.  Doesn't melt it and the cut residue is interesting.  It makes little shreds of PVC. Pain to clean up since it's very light and has a high static charge so it wants to cling to everything.  NOt planning on try it with Bones anytime soon...

you can try saws.....or... you could try doing the same as the assembly only in reverse, and heat the thing up before pulling the legs out.

Just boil a large pan of water, take it off the heat, dump the thing in and leave a few minutes before taking it out and pulling. 

Should not be too difficult when it's all soft and rubbery.

 

This assumes they did not use glue when asssembling. why waste money on glue when cooling down does the trick?
