Sylverthorne
I don't really 'dog', as Mr. Thorne is mildly phobic (controlled, but he reacts very badly if surprised). Any dogs living here would probably be purebred and thus would have a Job To Do. Debating one of a dozen LGD breeds, having lost a few too many chickens to local predators, but finding a breeder I figure I can count on isn't easy. So .. I don't 'dog'. ^^; On looks - and personality - I do like Afghan Hounds. They're not easy dogs to live with, and more than one is a flaming nightmare if they aren't trained. Don't.. please don't .. ask me how I know that. *sigh* Don't let that elegant profile and miles of silky hair fool you; that sight hound is entirely fast enough to catch and kill jack rabbits, and thrilled to do it.
knarthex
My favorite is the dogs that live with me.... My favorite of those was the first after getting married was Sherlock, a purebred Yorkie, that I helped deliver... He was our first "child", and his nickname was The Little Boy. He has been gone over 10 years, I still miss him terribly...

Of course, if I was being positive, I would say I like them all equally.
redambrosia
17 hours ago, TaleSpinner said: August 7: What is your favorite dog breed? The big friendly kind. At the store we went to to get a couch for my dad there was a dark grey poodle with a Mohawk. Much better than the usual hair cut they're afflicted with. But he was vary friendly. If you stopped petting him before he was done with you he'd push up against your leg for more pets. We we were happy to oblige. I've never had a dog, and when I was little I was scared of the big ones. I've since learned that it's the little ones that are to be treated like footballs, and the big ones that are generally friendly pupper fluffers. Hubby has had several dogs in his life and favors dogs that look rather like wolves. I've seen pictures of large dogs that look like polar bears. I'd be happy with either.

You're talking about purebred Bull Terrier. Also..posting pics of my former Boxer friends brings tears in my eyes. I'm happy with Brutus , but I still miss all of my former buddies terribly

(DocBedlam) Enough interest to produce a sequel? Actually, I would settle for it having a story with believable characters that happen to be adventurers. Get some good actors for once. Have actual backstories (that aren't fully revealed) for the characters. Sure, use blades, use staves, have a familiar, but if we don't connect with the characters it will just be another failure in a long line of failures that have gone before. To be honest, I don't care if we only have humans and they fight bandits. If the story is done right it will have drama, pacing and leave us at a cliffhanger where we demand to see the next one and where we don't cringe when anyone mentions it.

(DocBedlam) Decent writing and decent actors. I like good special effects but the story is the most important. Make me want to care about what's going on. That's my criteria for any film or book in any genre.

(DocBedlam) A cease and desist order. Seriously, I have little hope that a good D&D movie will ever be made. Maybe if it was framed as an adaptation of some well regarded novel, I might be more optimistic, but as soon as you hand a bunch of work-a-day Hollywood writers a mandate to make a movie "about Dungeons & Dragons", I become deeply skeptical.
LordJosh
8/8: A compelling story, development of characters, fantastic special effects, grand sound design, and strong actors to pull it all off.

If you make me care enough about the characters, I won't mind the ridiculous plot to get the ID bracelet of the apocalypse, or whatever the McGuffin is.

Like Grayfax said, I don't care if the whole thing is filled with humans, just please make it a good story, and give me some reason to care about the people in it.

(DocBedlam) Plot and characterization. The previous movies have been treated like movies based on video games (always a huge red flag), where making it like the game is thought to be important while traditional dramatic virtues take a back seat. The result has been as bad as an 80s comic book movie. First tell a story, then worry about the rest.
