Dilvish the Deliverer
Hot chocolate. Usually the instant stuff like Swiss Miss. After that is tea; Salada. I save coffee for emergencies or when I go out to breakfast.

When I'm well: coffee with cream and sugar. When I'm sick: herbal infusions with honey I used to like all the steamed milk drinks from lattes to hot chocolate but these days my stomach is disinclined to tolerate the dairy. I do love my hot drinks, though.

Splash of... something. Creamer, half and half, 2%, whipping cream, booze, vanilla extract... Just don't mix these things Splash of one thing otherwise coffee get funky. Splash size dependent upon thing and need. Currently drinking coffee with splash of vanilla flavored creamer. Because it was on sale.
Moderator TaleSpinner Posted August 16, 2017 Author Moderator Share Posted August 16, 2017 I like coffee. I need cream and sugar to enjoy it. I typically use flavored creamers. My current favorite is the Creme Brulee flavor. I also like tea, typically Earl Greyer and Mango Ceylon from Republic of Tea and Moroccan Mint from Numi. I like my tea with a couple lumps of sugar.

I don't typically drink hot drinks. If I do, it depends on what's available; my wife is a big fan of herbal teas, so most of the time it's that. I'll have a cup of coffee occasionally. When I make a pot of coffee, I put cinnamon in with the grounds. Once it's brewed, it gets sugar and something, something could be cream or it could be Bailey's, it totally depends on my mood.

Seer of the Pitt
8 hours ago, TaleSpinner said: August 16: What is your hot drink of choice and how do you like it prepared? About 25 grams of freshly ground whole bean coffee in a Mr. Coffee with about 3 "cups" of water. It's enough to fill my mug and lasts long enough for me to finish a cigarette. Dark, medium or light roast- doesn't matter. Think I'll go have a cup now.
Auberon
Most days I have coffee of a morning. I also like hot tea and hot chocolate, but not in these temperatures. Come winter I'll make the switch from ice tea to hot tea.
Grayfax
8 hours ago, TaleSpinner said: August 16: What is your hot drink of choice and how do you like it prepared? My all time favorite hot drink is campfire coffee. Of course, you have to get to elevation (I like the Rockies, but any old mountain will do)... preferably in an old beat up jeep (because the view on the windy, dirt mountain roads is more enjoyable when you can lean out over a cliff). Then you pull out the 1960s era tall tin coffee pot, throw the grounds in the bottom and put it on top of the campfire. Get a nice clean-looking stick from the near vicinity and put it across the top so that the pot doesn't boil over. Enjoy the view for a bit in the crisp cold morning and in a bit pour some of the boiling brew into your own tin cup. I will never turn down coffee in such circumstances. In junior high and high school I lived 4 hours from such beverages (though still in Texas). I now live all the way across Texas from those mountains and experiences and I find I drink regular coffee much less often.

Uphill both ways Backpacking as a Girl Scout. First you get dumped in the Mojave Desert with a hundred other middle-schoolers, then you break into groups and use the past year of training to use your map and compass to figure out where in heck you are, then you scan the hills for evidence of a spring, then you walk that way and hope it's an above ground spring. Occasionally you wave at the helicopters overhead because you're right near an Air Force base because the Girl Scout Council isn't cruel, they want you to stay safe. They just want you to learn first-hand how to avoid dysentery. And how to splint a broken ankle in case you need to walk out under your own power.
Jokemeister
12 hours ago, TaleSpinner said: August 16: What is your hot drink of choice and how do you like it prepared? Coffee - with milk and no sugar. My favourite used to be tea but the problem is that I can't stand Hong Kong style milk tea so I tend to only drink tea if I'm drinking it at home. For those who don't know, HK style milk tea is made with evaporated or condensed milk instead of fresh milk and is a horrible abomination.
strawhat
I prefer hot chocolate. Swiss Miss or Carnation will do, but I prefer the Penzey's. But work doesn't provide that, so I'll drink tea during the winter. Nothing fancy, plain old Lipton is good enough to take off the chill. Nothing in it unless I'm feeling weak, then I'll add a dash or two of sugar. Just enough to let me know it's there. I don't remember the last time I had hot cider.
Clearman
13 hours ago, TaleSpinner said: August 16: What is your hot drink of choice and how do you like it prepared? The only thing I can think of for a hot drink of choice would be soup. I can't stand coffee, and prefer my caffeine delivered cold. Either soda or tea.

Hot cocoa is my hot beverage of choice, homemade from scratch, no sugar. If sweetness is desired, some aspartame. I like coffee like a Goth: pale and bitter. When I make it at home it's usually a shot of espresso made in an Aeropress added to hot milk. If soup in cups counts, I kind of like those instant Japanese clear soups in envelopes, and miso soup. I used to like tea. Then suddenly ... I didn't. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 1 hour ago, Jokemeister said: Coffee - with milk and no sugar.
