Gadgetman!
Okay, not going to whow off the paints I've received recently (Scale75 Metal & Magic, 3 Reaper paints, and some metallic washes) or the Hobbyzone rack... I'm not even going to show off the paperback 'The Origial STRAND Sherlock Holmes' book which is a complete Facsimile edition of the books. Illustrated. That was just a $2.5 at a local reclamation store. No, what I'm going to show off is something I picked up at my parent's house on sunday, As some my guess, yes, it's the glass from an oil lamp. And yes, it's broken. In fact, it's even more broken than what is immediately obvious because the top edge isn't smooth, indicating that it was longer and that someone cut it down very slightly and attempted to file the edge in order to get rid of a crack. This is a brokkoli shame, because this is the lamb\p it belongs to, It belonged to my maternal grandmother, and I would really, really like to hang it up in my apartment. I just wish I could find the right glass tube somewhere... I think there may have been something mounted on the cherubs on the side, also, as there's a mysterious hole in them, but that's a minor concern, really. The little round porcelain thing is a lid that is supposed to hang above the glass tube to stop it from sooting up the roof. 3

Sanael
Ok! I just received the first few pieces from the *first* Imbrian Arts Kickstarter. For those not familiar: at about the same time as the first Bones KS and the first Kingdom Death: Monster KS, Imbrian launched their original campaign... It went wildly of the rails and has been in a state of non-fulfillment ever since. Jody, the artist behind Imbrian, has been working to catch up for a long time. Some things are done, others are not, and he's made the offer to ship whatever is done to his original backers, then ship other things as they get done. I finally decided to take him up on that offer. I'm pretty pleased with the minis. Some flash, but nothing egregious. The minis themselves are cleanly cast, and the sculpts are crazy detailed and every bit as weird as I expected. There's a lot about the campaign and subsequent years that are a good guide of how NOT to do things in Kickstarter-land, but the end result (so far) is pretty good. The gnoll and the (beautifully bizarre) necromancer bat: Lots of pieces to the gnoll, but it has one of the best UK-punk "I'm gonna cause some severe property damage" looks I've seen on a gnoll, so I like it. The bat is just crazy-creepy. The Shrikes: I got these because he didn't like what he ended up with for the free-with-$x-pledge "forest goblins," and I'm totally ok with that. These have a pretty great Harryhausen-meets-Henson-in-Pan's-Labyrinth vibe. And the Asura: (Not sure why the photo is upside down... Silly phone) One of two reasons I pledged for this KS, and I like her a bunch. Very delicate sculpt, but there are at least two points of contact for each separate piece. This one is weird and lovely and a little haunting. I still have a few pieces coming... eventually. At this point, it's hard to say whether this is all worth the wait: if I'd known how long it would take, I definitely wouldn't have pledged, but now the money is so long spent these are like little free gifts in my mailbox. I'm pleased with the minis, so there's that!
Sophie was taken
Found at the Dollar Teee: Black and white basing materials. Not sure how the black will work out but the white looks almost identical to Army Painter snow. Hey, it was $2 total. Oddly, each package weighs 1.1lbs/498g. I guess they couldn’t decide on imperial or metric and split the difference.

It's been a while since I heard anything from Jody.

A search for "oil lamp chimney" brought up a replacement for that exact type in the first try.

Google sometimes sorts the results a bit differently depending on where you are, so no, I haven't been that lucky. I may have found a spare here in Norway now, by googling for 'Kosmos lampe glass' (kosmos is the brand name on the burner, found it on the knob for adjusting the wick up and down. ) and are now waiting for a response. But if you could PM me a link...

It's been a while since I heard anything from Jody. Everything I have now is metal. But my pledge was relatively small: I specifically pledged for the Asura, the Piper and the Forest Elemental. So really, only 33% of the things I specifically wanted are done (less if you consider the size of the Elemental)... But I have a use for the goblins coming up, so I figured what the hey. Have him send these. I have found that Jody is quite prompt to respond when you have a specific question, but not great if you're waiting for him to follow up on something. Very friendly in my interactions, but I'll never back another KS of his. Which is a shame, since the minis are really very nice. 3 1

Lots of classic Partha, some Tom Meier stuff, GW, Mantic I haven't identified it all yet I think I recognize those forest animals on the right, possibly a spell effect set from a line I can’t quite recall at the moment. I’m sure I identified it somewhere on the forums.

Those are Ral Partha Europe (not the same as Ral Partha) set 31-025 “Lesser Animals”, a seven piece set, labeled on my set as “Wolverine, Warthog, Fox, Bobcat, Stag, Badger, R/Snake”. Looks like they are all there. What I had thought it was was the DGS Games Freeblades set 100015 “Trillian Animal Swarm”. A quick glance will show why I mixed thm up, as it is a very similar animal assortment, only the deer is looking the other way.

Looks like they are all there. Technically, they're not just RPE - RPE was formed in 2000 as an offshoot of the the original Ral Partha, in order to directly manufacture and sell Ral Partha figures in Europe. The Ral Partha Imports line was first produced by the original American Ral Partha company long before that and was a different thing altogether. Ral Partha used to have the license to produce figures from lines from Citadel and other European companies in the US, and the Citadel Fiend Factory line was put out under the Ral Partha Imports label. When the Citadel license went away, RP began sculpting their own figures in the Fiend Factory line, still using the Imports label. 31-025 Lesser Animals was one of those sets. I've seen it on both the Imports backing cards and on the standard Ral Partha backing cards. 3

I've broken a few myself over the years. @Gadgetman! just sent you a PM.
