Gadgetman!
Okay... Badger is an American airbrush manufacturer, and even on the Patriot, they have a Metric M5 threaded hose fitting... Yeah, my compressor has the usual 1/8" whatever fitting. So my plans of test driving my new airbrush turned into a bit of online shopping... (Ordered an adapter on eBay) I also added a bottle of airbrush cleaner and a pack of A4 sheets of masking film.
eldamir
I have acquired a display case.. It's already too small as it's not deep enough for either Dragons Don't Share or the Sleeping Beauty diorama I'm working on.. But for free, it'll do for now.. Edited June 25, 2018 by eldamir sweep, deep, whatever.. i hate autocorrupt!
aku-chan
Ordered yet more Guild Ball sets, this time it's the Hunters Guild 'Blessings of the Sun Father' set and The Unions 'The Bloody Coin' set. Was kind of hoping these could wait until later next month, as the Hunters Guild isn't officially replaced until August (and I just spent quite a bit getting those Brewer and Mason sets), but supplies are drying up already. I think what I feared is coming to pass, stores don't want to get lumbered with these older sets like they were last time, so they're being careful with how much they keep in stock. It would be so much easier if I could just accept that I don't actually need all the things.

haldir
Acquired today metal 1/8" aluminum rod! Ok it was the only hobby thing I bought today. It'll be used to attach a Schleich octopus sea critter to a large or huge base (not sure which one I want just yet).
Pegazus
Picked up a 1:144 scale model of a P47D at Honby Lobby. Clearance for $3. Also picked up several oil paints and a pallet knife for 50% off each item. Got a house project and couldn’t recall if we had the knife. But for $1.50, get it.
Popular Post Pezler the Polychromatic
I'm a bit late in mentioning it, but recently friends of mine came into town briefly to work on the house they're selling, and messaged me that there was a surprise waiting at the FLGS (which is owned by mutual friends of ours). I was a little confused by what it could be, perhaps it was small memento of the campaign path that we just finished created by his wife? Boy, was I wrong: It ended up being his original Bones 1 Kickstarter pledge, plus a few extras. I was always interested in looking at them, but I did not expect in the least that he would bequeath them to me, and he said they didn't have room in their place for them. I offered to store them until they could get to them again, but they said they no longer have time to do any painting, and only kept a couple figures that they might get to. They said that they wanted to give them to me because they knew they would have a good home with me. I'm absolutely floored by their generosity, this was so completely unexpected. There's most of the pledge box in there, though I gave a few minis to my friend that owns the FLGS so that she can work on her painting, I think a gift like this requires that I try to encourage the hobby whenever I can. There's also a few Paizo and other prepainted figures in there that need to be repaired, so I'll get to them when I can. I now have my very own lovely Yephima in all her delicious cheesecakeyness. My friend also backed both the Rappan Athuk and Razor Coast Kickstarters, so in the box he also gave his Tsathogga an Orcus from the former and Captain Bethany Razor from the latter. But one thing in the box surprised me most of all....... ......a slightly fuzzy picture. Didn't want to take it out of its original package, but what i have here is the Mound of Dead Bards from The Gamers: Hands of Fate kickstarter (my friend managed to get the RPG module signed by most of the actors, it's one of his most treasured possessions). I have to admit that I definitely squeeeed when I saw this, it's one figure that I've been wanting for a long time but I never expected him to part with it. It made me so happy! Finally, he had put out some of his larger figures on consignment, both to make room and raise a bit of money. When I saw this, I knew I had to get it: An original Bones 1 Kaladrax, never opened. I bought it both to help him out, and to keep it out of the hands of a certain unscrupulous customer who would have tried selling it for an exorbitant price for it if he had caught wind that there's only preproduction castings available for it now. I now have 3 out of 4 Goblin Challenges, I only need the time and ambition to do them. I have some great friends all over the place, and I'm grateful for all of them. 23

Also, airbrush makers should probably have a sit-down and agree to a standard air hose connection size. My understanding is that Iwata, Badger, and Paasche all have a different size for the connection of airbrush to hose, which is why you have to buy their specific quick connect adapters. Once you have a quick connect on, though, it works in every quick connect because those are a standard size...

The English use some metric but the cars drive in miles, the food is sold in pounds and kg, and they sell gas in liters but cars show efficiency in miles per imperial gallon. Oh, and they do have one wonderful bonus: beer is sold in imperial pints! And for the US: better all SAE than the horror of the 90s when cars used a mixture metric and SAE sizing and you had to play guess the wrench every time you wanted to do any work! Received 3 games: Seafall on heavy discount, Mission: Red Planet, and Sushi Go Party! Had a lot of fun with the last

Gadgetman!
Remembered last night that an airbrush I bought years ago(Junk model with a jar under instead of a cup on top) came with a thin hose and a bottle adapter. I dug it out, and the hose actually fit onto the Badger! It also came with a M5 to 1/4" adapter and a 1/4 to 1/8" adapter... I coupled it together and switched on the compressor... And it hissed worse than a Beancounter when you have to do a large, budgetbreaking purchase... Today's shopping included 4L of 10W-40 oil for the car, and a roll of thread tape... (will try again tonight. Now I'm heading out to the garage and the impossible task of cleaning it up a bit... )
