Thanks to @canuckotter for mentioning these...  Acquired 2x Ikea Tertial work lamps, 2x 1000 lumen LED bulbs (which have a CRI of >90, which, in my eyes, is good enough for now), and then 1x 600 lumen LED bulb to replace my current tiny "reading lamp" that's currently my main source of light.  Here's hoping for much more light on my desk tonight!  (I'll be going from 400 lumens dedicated to miniature area, to 2000 or even 2600 if I engage overkill, so should be noticeable :p)

Edited because greater than 90 is the actual CRI oops.

My Kickstarter package of the new edition of Greg Stafford’s Prince Valiant rpg and scenario book came yesterday. This has been much delayed due to the untimely death of Stewart Wieck, the organizer, but his associates, to their credit, kept us informed and got it completed.

Semi-terrible picture, but it gives the vague impression of this and that.  Light I have actual light, no more leaning in to try and see things better!

It's nice and even light too, technically 5x the amount of lumens my old one had (2x1000 vs 1x400), and best of all, it doesn't bother my eyes, or throw glare on any of our computer screens (which is important, since hubby tends to game when I paint, and/or vice versa).

Will be adding a third light tomorrow for hubby!

... No more post it notes to try and keep light from blowing into my eyes and causing them to get crossed alongside a massive headache, YAAAAAAAAAY!

David Tennant, Catherine Tate, and Bernard Cribbins minis arrived from the UK, all set to sit on the shelf along with the Reaper 80037 Telephone Box; all waiting until I can figure out basing and confidence in painting to put together a diorama (by 3rd week of September, for a birthday). Any helpful hints and encouragement gratefully appreciated...

Do I revel in my work bench lighting or be bummed out because my eyes didn't age well?  My painting desk has 12000 lumens overhead with 2 1600 lumen spots.  It's all LED daylight bulbs in flouresescent fixtures and 2 articulated desk lamps.  Additionally, one of the spots is a magnifying fixture that focused the light to about the size of a pancake.

I will say it does wonders chasing away the winder blues.  I turn on the lights and it really gives the impression I walked outside on a spring day.

I also got a little attached to prime day. Purchases included

My first instant pot

A lockpick set

New sonic toothbrushes

New oven mutts

A certain dino book recommended in the book thread

And a copy of pandemic legacy season 2

I have acquired serious annoyance with Fantization Miniatures. Almost a month ago I placed an order with them as my birthday present to myself. After two weeks and two unreturnd emails I called them an actually got to talk to someone. I was told that my order should ship next week (next week is currently this week). I called them yesterday and got voicemail. I left a message requesting a status update on my order. At this point I am beginning to think that I just want my money back. The thing that really annoys me is the main thing I ordered was a Scale 75 paint set. I ordered it from Fantization because it was cheaper there. If I had ordered through Amazon or Scale 75 I would already have my paint. On Wednesday I did place an order from Scale 75 for a few colors I wanted. They will be here Monday. I will never again order paint from Fantization, not sure if I will order anything else either. Anyone else have the same issues, any advice? This situation really disappoints me because I have has good experiences with them in the past.

I will call them again today they are two time zones behind me so I will have to wait for a bit to call.

Scale 75 paint is one of the few things I will not order from them as I had a similar experience once. From what I gather, if they are out of stock and have to reorder it, it can take more than a month for them to get it from Scale 75 in Spain depending on customs. I now order it from CompetitionMinis as he only displays what he as in stock on the website so no second guessing stock levels and the free shipping is a plus. I am surprised at the lack of communication though, when I have had to contact them there was a pretty quick turn around. It could be due to an influx of orders and communication due to their recent sales as I know it is a small operation.

I was told last week that their shipment from Spain had just been released from customs and that I should expect it to ship this week. So that is extra annoying.

Nothing mini related acquired but of course that means it must be poker related. :)  I just got a green sun visor to wear Sunday while I deal at our home game and a new card protector to use while playing.  This one spins in the middle and the donkey's tale points to a random action for me to do. :)  I love random havoc!

Spoiler

Sorry, no pic of me in the visor...yet.

For myself, I'm just happy that I can have more light for painting and it doesn't interfere with regular day to day life (aka doesn't give me a headache or eye strain).  I suspect if I took a light meter to the living room it would be "perfect" for watching movies, but many do comment on how dark it is until their eyes adjust. ^_^

Placed a order with them a couple of days ago. Hasslefree  mini & a bottle of paint. I'd have ordered more but even 1 more bottle of paint jumped the shipping up from 450 to 900....wth?

Hopeing I don't incur the same delay you have occurred, as I need the mini ASAP!!

Luckily, I've never have had a bad order with them.  (knocks on @Glitterwolf
