Figured I'd pop over as I had heard they have some swag for opening days. Wasn't expecting to stand in line for half an hour to get in (I got there two hours after opening). Didn't expect to stand in line inside for most of an hour either..... Store was smaller than I expected. Only GW store I've been to was the one in the Eaton's mall in Montreal and it is easily 4-8 times bigger (it has been 4+ years since I was there, so a bit vague). They had room for 2 tables.....not a lot of play or hobby space. Each of the other two local game stores have way more retail and way more play space. And I'm pretty sure there were larger locations around the city that would have been available. So *shrug*..... The sales guys certainly seemed enthusiastic. Very keen to get new people started, but equally quick to lay of the sales pitch after they asked me what I played and I said "Bolt Action" 🙂 The guy from Texas who flew in just for the opening (GW corp guy, part of the team that flies around and opens stores apparently) was very helpful for pointing out cool paints I should try out.....very helpful.... 😄 Needless to say I didn't buy any minis, but did pick up a few things. The paints are a mix of new contrasts, a few washes and some textures basing ones (I was happy with the Mars type ones I got a few months ago). The box of skulls is just that, a box of 300 and some skulls. Can never have too many skulls. The XL painting handle which I've been wanting for a while. The assembly stand looked cool and the painting handles plug into it. I've assembled a few things recently where that would have been super useful. And the one GW opening specialty thing I could use, the Store Founding Dice. They only sell them on the opening day of a new store. They are stupid pricy, but hard to get dice? I can't even make that will save. So then they offer swag, based on how much you spend. That's my haul, which was pretty much everything. On the left, there is a dice tray, on top of smaller type backpack. In the middle there is a lenticular poster, which switches between the dude you see in the pic and a space marine. On top of that is a smaller (8.5x11 ish) pic on card stock. There were 12 ish to pick from, I went with the guy in back. On top of those are a pen and set of Chaos Cultist dog tag, they were handing out when you were in line. And a Chaos pin and Store Founder (the gold skull pin). And "Warhammer Build Paint Play" pin. And on the right is a messenger bag (which looks about the right size to hold my Star Wars Legion tokens and dice and such), 2 packs of card sleeves (not sure if I was supposed to get 2 but that's what was in the bag) and a dice bag. I know there are people online that hate it, but I think these people are the ones that wish original rules were still the only D&D rules. I will admit, I don't understand the screen, unless there are new charts on it. I would have rather seen something else from the setting included instead I may get the physical set whenever we get around to playing in it (mainly for the map, but having player access to the new rules would be handy. 6 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

They were out on quite a few Unpainted, or at least what I had noted down. Oh well, there is always online ordering. Corsair was looking for easily stored sf terrain, although I obviously haven't punched it out yet. Yep, that's a 2x2 neoprene map underneath! Battle Systems will have its Maladus dungeon miniatures skirmish game and terrain, based on the Core Space game system in October! It was like, $10 more than the regular version, and the cover is sooooooo pretty. He really likes it. He was very surprised when I gave it to him too, cause I didn’t tell him it had been released.
