CripDyke
y'know, eastman, that's exactly like the mini I just got w/ my Reapercon Registration. If you had been there, you'd have that mini by now.... Does anyone have an extra for Eastman??
CripDyke
Not just Wasp-archers in chitin like armor... I want a whole faction that wears armor that looks like it was made from the carapaces of giant insects of various kinds. I would buy a whole army of them!!! And I don't say that lightly!! Kalendraf
Here's my top 10 ideas for minis that I'd like to see: 1) Characters with heavy flails (two-handed type). Humans of course, but also other races, like Dwarves and maybe Half-orcs. Seems like I can find maces and hammers, and tons of swords for weapons, but a good two-handed heavy flail is tough to find. Sure there's the weapon packs, but I'd like to see some with this weapon by default. 2) Characters with spiked chains, especially rogues. As above, it's a tough weapon to find. And the spiked chain is even harder to modify properly with a weapon pack, IMHO. 3) Half-orcs (or orcs) with true double axes - that is an axehead on each end of the shaft. I find lots of orcs or half-orcs with overly big single-headed axes but no double axes. 4) More characters wielding double weapons in general - double swords, double maces, double axes, etc. 5) Charismatic half-orcs. Not all half-orcs have to be ugly brutes. How about having some good-looking half-orcs. They can be other classes beside barbarians and fighters too. While less common, how about a Half-orc sorcerer or Half-orc bard? For the bard, I'm thinking you could go for the heavy-metal look. Spiked wrist bands, studded leather and maybe a prominent skull necklace. Make his mandolin (or guitar) really evil looking too. 6) While were on the topic of charismatic half-orcs, how about some female half-orcs? I see a lot of female humans and elves and a few halfings, but hardly any female half-orcs. A few could be less attractive members of the species while others could be quite good looking. 7) More crossbows as carried weapons. I'd like to see most combat-classed minis (fighters, rogues, clerics, etc) have a ranged weapon somewhere - in their hands or slung on their back. 8) Dwarven Druids. Most dwarves are shown as fighters or clerics, and sometimes theres a dwarf wizard or rogue. Let's see some dwarf druids, perhaps ones favoring the forces of stone and earth. 9) Bald characters. Not everyone is blessed with great hair, especially men elderly men. But fighter types might shave their domes as well to keep cool in their helmets. And I can envision different orders that might shave their heads too (both male and female). 10) More big-breasted scantilly-clad females. We can never have too many of these! Of course, I'm all for equal opportunity, so you should probably put in a few bare, big chested hunks while your at it. Seriously though, considering that certain game worlds have extremely hot environments (Dark Sun, for example), characters wearing very little clothing is not just some teenager fantasy, it's a reality...well at least as real as fantasy gaming is concerned. Don't bother giving these character cloaks or other items that don't make sense in a superheated environment. What is needed is the bare essentials (weapon, belt with pouches, boots, maybe gloves, wristbands and a few pieces of jewelry). Just enough to kick butt at 120+ degrees fahrenheit. The whole big chest/big breast is of course optional, but hey, why not?
Bill_Adcock
#10 might be difficult, as Reaper is a family-oriented company Also, going into 120 degree heat, with the sun beating down on you, in the buff is *not* a good idea. Why do you think the nomadic tribes of the middle east wrap their heads, and indeed their entire bodies, in billowing white cloth? To keep cool. eastman
y'know, eastman, that's exactly like the mini I just got w/ my Reapercon Registration. If you had been there, you'd have that mini by now.... Does anyone have an extra for Eastman?? yes, that is exactly the mini I want. I couldn't make ReaperCon this year because I had long ago booked a vacation for this May (I've only been planning the trip for the last 4+ years), and between the airline fees for rescheduling our non-refundable tickets and the probable loss of the deposits for accomodations, it would have cost me between $300 - 700 to not go. Bill_Adcock
Howzabout an Electricity Elemental? That would be soooo cool. Some sort of elephantine monster -- either a bipedal were-elephant with shoulder armor, hip-guards and a circular armor plate strapped over its heart, and its tusks capped with blades, with a huge axe in each hand; or a behemoth sorta thing, basically elephantine, but with bony armor plates instead of wrinkled skin and a slobbering, fanged mouth and curly tusks like a mammoth. Sculpted, of course, by Jason Wiebe.

Bill_Adcock
And a tinkerer/wizard to go with it, preferably with the hairstyle and mustache of the Patron Saint of Electrical Engineers, Nikola Tesla (my personal hero). Blackthorn
I had another thought on the Rokugan line... How about some Nezumi? I don't think they have ever had any minis and they could make for some really cool sculpts. And on the subject of rat-men how about some more ratlings for DHL to go with the one old one, were-rat, and rat swarms. (Sorry, I just saw some cute rats at Petco the other day I really need to stop going there )
Mourningcloud
oh yeah, one more thing why are so many of the characters in both lines (dh and warlord) holding their helmets in their hands or strapped to their backs? One thing i would really like to see is more characters with their helmets ON! (with visors DOWN please) I know we all like to see our character' faces-indeed that is what makes them "characters", as opposed to rank and file troops, but COME ON! some of us would prefer the visual representation of our character to be wearing a helmet, which depending on the helmet, can be just as expressive and "characterful" (if not more) as anopen face. for example, look at mangu (dh 2483) and ilkhan (dh 2407) both of these minis lend a certain presence, that would be lost without the helmet. (in fact the lack of a face makes them menacing, almost inhuman. I use them both for characters of mine) now if you will consider a bare faced figure: Iris, female gnome (dh 2772) it looks like, well, another sandra garrity female demi human - like elia shadowfeet and several other garrity female faces. nothing against sandra garrity sculpts (better than i can do) but there isnt really a whole lot of character evident in this one. however, our fearless female fighter just happens to have a beautifully sculpted helmet strapped to her posterior, that is not only expressive, but seems to have a badger/other burrowing animal theme going on. absolutely brilliant! i would much rather have this than another cute little face giving my fierce gnomish character well...character. i cant see any way to cut it off put it on instead of her head without destroying the mini, so alas it remains a decent miniature at best. SO TO CONCLUDE ANOTHER MOURNINGCLOUD TIRADE (which there is as yet no proof that anyone even bothers to read, but thats okay cause i re-read em enough times to make up for alla you who see my posts and skip over them, thinking "too long") MORE MINIS WITH COOL EXPRESSIVE HELMETS AS OPPOSED TO BORING BARE HEADS and maybe even COOL RESCULPTS, WITH HELMS ON THIS TIME AROUND. and if anyone can help me insert pictures-i cant seem to get them to work lol

Unglef
I know I'm a little late to this thread, but I'd love to see a barbarian with a big-a$$ two handed hammer (maul).
Vinny
I would like a proportionate Orc (big and muscular, but not like the GW ones with heads big enough to act as barrels). Maybe something like the orcs from Warcraft games. Heres a piece of artwork by "Samwise", Warcraft concept artist: If I had an army of orcs that looked like that instead of GW or Lord of the Rings ones, I would be so happy...
