They make GREAT minis, except during that one phase where they were trying to sell me bubbly pitted resin minis at $25 each. But sell me SOME of the game, then some MORE of the game, then some MORE of the game... I swear, it's DLC all over again. No. Just no. They have successfully gotten my attention, and then disappointed and angered me. Again.

Erifnogard
I'm pretty excited about the miniatures almost more for various 40K uses than for Necromunda. I think you could mix Escher and Orlocks for a passable Savlar Chemdogs army. The Goliaths are made for Khorne cultists. Van Saar will be awesome Inquisition agents if they keep their old look.

Erifnogard
Played three battles running a Goliath gang against my opponent's Escher gang today. Great fun and a nice update to an old favorite ruleset. Won two, lost one but all were really close victory point totals. I especially like that the Bottle isn't instantaneous anymore.

I tend to play Rogue Stars as "scum of the universe" so these are quite welcome.
Werkrobotwerk
grumble. My attempts to set up a game for Saturday have fallen apart. At this point I will have painted all the minis before I can even try the rules.
Club
Hey grumpy and bedlam, here's the legacy gangs: https://necromunda.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2017/11/ENG_Necromunda_Gangs_Of_Legend_Download.pdf Also, why can't I find the reply button?
TheAuldGrump
We know about the Legacy rules. Pretty sure one of us even posted a link to those rules. The problem is that the rules for the freakin' game are incomplete. Including the equipment that shows up in the trading post. In order to have the full game, you are going to have to buy at least six expansions. And they are charging way too much for each expansion. Let us see now.... I can spend $30 freaking dollars on the rules for each gang, or I can use the full rules for the old version without spending money on anything other than the minis... and not have to wait for a freakin' year and a half for the rules to finish coming out.... Decisions decisions, decisions.... Nope, not a hard decision to make at all - sorry, GW - you just lost out on selling the game to us. You had a chance to get me back as a customer - and made some serious inroads on it. You had a chance to get a whole new player in the person of my good lady wife. But then you got greedy and stupid and lost the sale. Whoops. The Auld Grump Edited December 11, 2017 by TheAuldGrump

I'm still building other GW stuff (Eldar, Marines and Skaven) but I so wanted to drag my Necromunda stuff back out and get it another go with fresh new minis/rules and sadly, I'm going to skip it. Unless I can con one of my buddies into picking the stuff up... ;-)
TheAuldGrump
I have a horrible suspicion that managerial meddling is at fault - I do know that the rules had already been written, and then word came down that it was being broken up in order to sell terrain. At a guess, they just kept breaking it down smaller, and smaller, and smaller.... There is a chance that GW will come to its senses, but I am not holding my breath. And the old rules work just fine. On the plus side - this opens up The Ash Wastes. We had been hoping to get a campaign started with the new rules, with about a dozen players - but... no. Not putting up rules for Scavvies lost them a player. Not putting up rules for the Redemptionists lost them two more folks - who are, instead, getting Frostgrave Cultists and working from there. *EDIT* Oh! I just had an idea! Instead we are starting a campaign with the old rules - and now I need to come up with a meta plot for the campaign. So, we may well end up buying the pretty plastic miniatures - I like what I have seen so far. But their stupid, stupid parceling out the rules in bits and bobs... not so much. kristof65
That's a shame to hear that GW managed chase off former customers yet again.

If they wanted to hook me, all they would have had to do was SELL ME A *%#^$ GAME. SELL ME ALL THE RULES, ALL AT ONCE. Hell, I wouldn't have even needed the MINIS, I'd have bought them separately if I'd had to! But no, no, no, they couldn't do that. Can't sell all the rules in one book, no, no, just no. Got to sell it all piecemeal, and then sell all the expansions. Can't give them the option to stop anywhere, no, no, no. My answer? No, no, no.
Dai-Mongar
I'll probably pick up the issue of White Dwarf with rules for Genestealer Cults in Necromunda when it comes out, so that I can play with friends who have the game, but I think I'll leave it at that. I have plenty of neophytes with which to build a gang.
TheAuldGrump
Pretty sure they are still following Kirby's edict of not releasing rules for models that are not AvailableTM fromTM Games WorkshopTM. Kirby was utterly convinced that other companies would steal and sell any idea that GW did not release first.... Ticks me off - what I have seen of the new version looks good. Just not worth $30 for the rules of each gang....
