Thanks, guys! I'm glad y'all are liking it!

This one got away from me a little bit but that's okay.

So I have just under 8 hours left and here's what I have left to do:

The entire base lol

And I still have to put yellow on the backs of the wings

RIP my back

I really like both the eyes and the scale texture you've done. I hope you finish in time, because it's important to you, but I've already gotten my money's worth from your pain.

If I had spent money.

Go, go, go!

Well done!  Wait, that hardly seems adequate.  EXCEPTIONALLY WELL DONE!  You have not only slain your beastie, not only done an absolutely AMAZING paintjob, but you have beaten everybody to slay all four!  You have transcended, and are now THE ULTIMATE GOBLIN.

Use your new powers wisely.  Or not,  Whatever strikes you.

So that all may see your legendary feat and love you and despair... here is your brand new, completely unique, super RARE fancy badge.

Feels like it ought to be gold or something.

YAAAYYY!!!!::D::blues: There ain't enough emoticons to express what I feel looking at that dragon. I'm in awe at both the speed and the quality. You seriously rock. You'll have to excuse me for a bit while I hide and cry because I can't do that good.

As I said you would, you have created yet another amazing masterpiece. You did exactly what you were going for; when I squint my eyes a little, the wings look like the sun setting behind the Sierra Nevada. Congratulations on such gorgeous work, I'm proud of you (again).

Thank you so much everyone! I'm glad y'all like him!

As I'm sure you can imagine, I'm pretty exhausted. I was obviously working right up to the last few minutes and then it took me a while to get a setup together to take pictures for the official entry thread that hopefully won't make Doug ashamed of me. ::P: I'll probably put up a show off thread with a photo dump tomorrow. I would've liked a few more hours to not have to rush things at the end there, but I'm really proud of how everything came together. Thank you for the support and encouragement, it really did help me get through the blood, sweat and tears (literally all 3 of those things) that I poured into this thing.

It was really rough, but damn that badge looks good in my signature. :B):

I think the photos are really strong. They show the detail well, the colors are vibrant, focus is good, and there aren't any significant distractions.

Oh, and the dragon is cool too.

Really, really cool. I'm amazed at what you have created. And more amazed that you could do it under the handicaps of limited time and tools. I hope I get to see it at ReaperCon.

This is one I've had "in progress" for ages. I finally mustered the courage to tackle all the eyes and then had fun with drool!

Just thought i would put these up to show off the new party making their way through saltmarsh.  A party of six graduates from the civilized lands, roped into fulfilling a debt by their mentors.  At least they are working together...  they arent my finest work but for 6 hours of painting, they will do nicely for our little gaming group and the group enjoyed the surprise of coming to their second session to discover they all had custom painted minis!
      we have a Halfling fighter
an elven thief with a fixation for daggers
      a halfling bard
the blue dragonborn priest of Protos
the black Dragonborn warlock (had to create the head.  I couldnt find a dragonborn mini with an 8 strength...)
and a Human ranger from the backstreets and slums
hope you enjoy them, i dont know how long they will last....

      Here is my Callie.
I painted her as a second WIP for my BONES 1 attempts.
I really like the sculpt.  I painted her as a half-orc or orc.  She has some freckles, nice green gems, and some ivy freehand on the cloak.
Here is a link to the WIP.
      C&C Welcome.

Another villager from me. :) This is a 03856 Townsfolk: Courtesan
Got this one done at a painting day in about 3 hours of work, but interrupted by cups of tea. :)

      Hello, all!

I'm planning to paint Ma'al Drakar as Dungeons & Dragons' Dark Lady, Tiamat.
She's going to be, by far, my biggest painting project. Before I start painting, I'm planning some conversions to make her look more like D&D's Chromatic Dragon.
I'd love to get any advice or tips that anyone would like to share about painting large models, or any of the other parts of the process. I'll share my plans, and try to keep up a WIP thread about this grand adventure.
My first step is going to be pretty drastic, so if anyone wants to jump in with advice, please do.
I have WotC's Gargantuan Black Dragon. The forward-sweeping horns are so iconic, my Tiamat's black dragon head (Ma'al's lower right head) should have horns like that. The Gargantuan Black's a perfect scale to use for Tiamat's horns. I'm actually planning to carefully cut the horns off the black dragon, make a 2-part mold, cast a set of horns for Tiamat, and reattach the horns back on the black dragon.
Am I out of my mind? Does any one see potential problems with this plan, other than the usual challenges of casting minis, etc?
Thanks in advance for any advice, feedback, and encouragement!
