Photo hosting sites

Not technically a photography question but it is sort of related, in a round about way.

Since photobucket went all stupid where is everyone hosting photos to share on the site now?

I know very little about that sort of thing so I have no idea what to look for.

This has killed all my posts and pretty much stopped me from being active here and it is driving me nuts.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Well this forum actually allows you to upload pics directly to it. The only exception are for the NSFW nudity-related figures which need to be hosted off-site and linked to stay within the rules. I just upload nearly all my stuff on here and if it's NSFW I'll link the pics. Usually through facebook, but facebook links now expire after a while.

I switched to Imgur after Google first acquired and then killed Picasa web albums.

I find the interface easy and intuitive to use, and it's simple to grab a URL to an individual picture and paste it into a thread here (which thanks to the new forum software causes the image to automatically generate).

The only annoying part is the fact that it really wants you to use it as a social media platform, but if you just do a few tweaks of the notification settings and always remember to upload pictures as Private instead of Public, that's not a big deal.

Huzzah!

Facebook can also be problematic though. The Hasslefree sculptor Kev White got in trouble with their nudity rules for his sculpts. It usually takes someone reporting it, but it is entirely possible. I'd suggest not putting NSFW photos there, as bans are a pain in the bum to deal with.

I wonder if it could be an idea to create an Adult Show Off section with access like Beekeepers, on demand?

This seems logical to me. I'd really like to be able to post my succubus and incubus figures when I paint them, and they sure as heck won't end up on the book of faces because the few prudes I know might get annoyed.

I'd really prefer an Adult/NSFW section here, too.

I guess I could put the pictures up on my LiveJournal album, or...

Not... My relatives knows of that account... And my father has found religion.

I have 2x 25GB webhosting sites, and only one is in use at the moment.

(It's mostly my email and computer collection on the site that is running. The other was for my writings, but I haven't gotten off my arse and transferred the contents yet.)

I'm only paying about $2/month for each, not counting the domain registrations.

And yeah, they're unlimited traffic.

I use a combination of Coolminiornot and Facebook. I have not had any problems with posting on facebook. But I really haven't posted anything I would consider objectionable. You do have to watch out for the privacy setting on facebook though. Yesterday I had linked some photos of Mithril miniatures I had painted to the Mithril fan page and had not selected public for privacy tab on my page. And that caused the link to not work on the fan page.
